Platypus 3.3 (Mac OS X)

Download Link is Wrong - Again

Once again VT have an outdated download link to V3.1 Follow the link to the Developer's site for the correct download. Come on VT this happens far too often. At least check your links before posting them. [alert admin]

Linotype FontExplorer X 1.0fc3 (Mac OS X)

Download Link is Wrong

The current VersionTracker download link for 1.0fc3 actually downloads the previous version. Go to the developers site to get the correct version. [alert admin]

StuffIt Expander 10.0 (Mac OS X)

10.0 Fails to expand archives

Downloaded the latest Virex definition (.gz) file. Stuffit 10.0 appeared to expand the archive successfully but the resulting .pkg file was only 64k bytes in size and consequently would not install the virus definitions. Reverted to Expander 9.0.1 which expanded the same .gz file to a .pkg file of 7.2 MB which was installable. Seems like the legendary Smith Micro software flakiness didn't take long to make its presence felt on this product. I suppose it's an advance that they don't charge for this non-funtioning software unlike the many iterations of FaxSTF. [alert admin]

UK keyboard layout fix 050218 (Mac OS X)

igamogam - not a representive sample

You're not looking at a representative example of PC keyboards. I have a Belkin wireless UK spec (i.e. shift-3 is a pound sign) keyboard and shift-2 on that is a double quote whilst shift-' is an @ sign. Because Belkin don't provide a Mac compatible key map for their keyboard I've had to resort to using a piece of software from Logitech to make the keyboard usable on my Mac. So I think this piece of software has a definite use. [alert admin]

X-MasTree 1.2 (Mac OS X)

CPU Usage much reduced

The developer has responded very quickly to bring down CPU usage to a more realistic level (about 4% instead of 20%). Well done. [alert admin]

X-MasTree 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Too CPU Intensive

Although it's very pretty there is no way that a piece of glitter like this should use 15-20% of the CPU on a 1GHz G4. I'd be happy to recommend it if the developer can reduce the excessive CPU utilization. [alert admin]

Office v.X crashes on launch if I have WMV Player installed

I can confirm that v2.0 and now v2.0.1 cause MS Word to crash on launch. Removing Flip4Mac and replacing it with v1.0.2 solves the problem.

Premature ejaculation, Oscarweb1?

I'm afraid Handle3 is completely wrong in his comment. Both Oscarweb1 and shavital2 correctly describe the capabilities of DSL. Handle3 seems to be confused about how this service is implemented.
