Romeo 0.9.3 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't get a bluetooth connection on my Intel-iMac

I tried this non-universal-binary on my Intel-iMac and OS X 10.4.6. Usually bluetooth connections are working great together with my Sony Ericsson phones (T630 and W810i), but NOT with Romeo. It only says, "no phone found". [alert admin]

Sony Ericsson W810 iSync Plugin 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Simply works

I got my new Sony Ericsson W810 today and, of course, wanted to synchronize my contacts and my iCal calendar. iSync doesn't support that cell phone. Simply create the folder in /Library/PhonePlugins and move the content of the ZIP file into it. Start iSync and add the phone. Works perfectly on my iMac with Intel and OS X 10.4.6. It even includes a nice icon of the cell phone for iSync. ;-) [alert admin]

MacHash 0.5 (Mac OS X)

Simply works

It simply does what I need it to do. It calculates the hash of text or a file immediately. Simply drop the the file on "File Digest". The hash value can be selected and copied. I only use MD5, but the other methods seem to work as well. The only thing that could make work slightly more comfortable would be a "copy" button to copy the hash value to the clipboard. HandBrake 0.7.1 (Mac OS X)

Runs great on Intel Mac

Firstly I have to say, HandBrake runs great on my Intel iMac 2,0 GHz. Video encoding is so much faster compared to my PCs. Just one thing: The maximum width for a PAL movie is 720 pixels. If I want to keep aspect ratio, the maximum height for a 16:9 movie is 400 px, which means a loss of 176 lines! People who know about the PAL format know, that PAL does not use square pixels. Encoding without loss of lines must be 1024x576 pixels for 16:9 and 768x576 px for 4:3 movies. Now I have set the size to the real size (720x576), which doesn't look very good, and then I have to stretch it to 1024x576 using QuickTime Pro and save it again. [alert admin]
