CharSys d20 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)

Five??

Call me crazy, but I don't see how anybody could give this application 5 stars. I'm just revisiting Dungeons and Dragons after over 15 years away from it (as my kids are getting old enough and interested), and thought I'd give this program a try. This program was written by people who obviously know nothing about Apple's human interface guidelines; the interface is nightmarishly childish. The functionality appears to be solid and well-considered, but the interface is so amateurish that it hardly feels like a Mac application. When I want to use ugly programs, I use windows, so sorry - this went straight to the trash and I'm sticking with pen and paper for the time being. [alert admin]

Jetset Willy 1.0.6a (Mac OS X)

Why in the name of dog??

Why does a remake of a simple 8-bit game need an installer and administrator rights. According to Apple's guidelines, unless there's a compelling reason to use an installer, programs should be distributed as an application bundle on a disk image. No offense, but I don't know you. I can't fathom why your game would need an installer and I'm not giving it admin rights to my machine. [alert admin]

Fixed

Delabana:

I have fixed the problem that caused 'PDF' to be appended on the end of the exported tiff filename; look for v1.0b2 to show up shortly.

I will consider adding a nudge feature, and will look into allowing stereo pairs with mis-matched sizes.

Thanks for the feedback. [alert admin]

Export Button

Titanic: Can you please e-mail me more information about the Export button problem you're having, along with some information about your system (OS version, computer model, etc.). Also, if you could see if there are any entries in the console (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) from Anaglyph Maker, those would also be helpful. I'd love to solve this problem, but the export button works fine on my test systems, so I need more information. Thanks. You can send the bug report to jeff_lamarche@mac.com . Thanks. The font is…

"Geneva" which is a standard system font. If you are having problems getting it to work, e-mail me (jeff_lamarche@mac.com) and we can see what we can do to get it working for you. [alert admin]

NewsHunter 2.0.11 (Mac OS X)

NewsHunter is an…

extremely overpriced news reader with an abstruse, convoluted interface. For fifty dollars, there should (at very least) be embedded decoding and inline viewing of images, and any program at any price should pay more attention to usability than this. Is NewsHunter horrible? No, but there are much more intuitive news readers (including some that also use a binary-centric paradigm) available for less money. This programs makes a relatively simple task very complex without giving you any benefit over the rest of the crop. [alert admin]

Shredder 2003-01-27 (Mac OS X)

    Priced…

right? This one-trick pony does something that's already available for free (unix command srm) and there's a free Gui wrapper around it (Overwritten 1.0) for those who don't like the terminal. It really only takes a few dozen lines of well-written code (at most), written to someone else's specs, to do what this program does. It's inane to spend $10 on it when it only offers functionality that is already available for free, especially since what's already available for free comes with the source code so you can make sure it's doing what it says it's doing, and isn't spying on you or doing anything else you don't want. Can't decompress

That's strange... I don't use Stuffit, but both the version of tar that come with OS X and gnutar both handle this file correctly. I'll try re-compressing it later in another format.
