ComicBookLover 1.3 build 905 (Mac OS X)
I've been using CBL for quite some time and it just keeps getting better. There was a short period where updates were not being done, but now that SL is here any and all bugs are being quashed as fast as they are being found. An excellent program with a great UI. [alert admin]

Dropbox 0.6.550 (Mac OS X)
Set it and Forget it. Best App Ever! ![]()

I had been hearing about Dropbox on MacBreak Weekly for some time as Merlin Mann swore by it. About 7 months ago I had to come up with a solution to share files between myself and my employees in a way that they would automatically update. I figured I'd give Dropbox a try. Let me tell you, it was the BEST decision I ever made! It syncs seamlessly. It doesn't matter if you are using Mac, Windows, Linux, whatever. It. Just. Works. The price is reasonable, although I haven't had the need to pay for a higher storage plan yet. With my referrals I'm up to 2.5GB and I'm only using about 5% of that. But if the need ever arises I will definitely pay for it. This is one product I could no longer live without. [alert admin]

Make sure you have a copy of the 2.6 installer before you update. I learned that my Wheel Mouse is no longer supported after I installed and had to go through all my backup CDs to find 2.6 again. Truly sad that Logitech doesn't support all their products as a company should. [alert admin]

FrostWire 4.13.4 (Mac OS X)
It seems that the developers don't want us to have this as the download link here and at their own site doesn't work... [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 7.3 (Mac OS X)
Well, after installing 7.3 it wouldn't open. After thinking of what I could do because I couldn't find a copy of 7.2 I decided to try something. I turned off Shapeshifter. now iTunes works. This really sucks for me as I was excited about having this new faster machine so I could use themes again. Oh well, maybe Shapeshifter will do an update soon. :( [alert admin]

I stopped using IM clients a few years ago because they were resource hogs. Once I got my new Intel Mac I downloaded this version of YM because it had webcam support (and I was led to believe voice support; which I can't find). It runs okay except that even when I have myself listed as invisible, everyone on my friends list can still see me. I see they haven't done an update since September, which is no surprise as they don't really care much about the Mac community. I just hope they can get off their duffs and get this product into a final stage. [alert admin]

OnyX 1.7.8b2 (Mac OS X)
I tried this product once. I optimized and defragged my drive. Once the process was done and I rebooted the partition was no longer recognized by my computer. I eventually had to erase everything and reinstall. My systems still not at 100% of where it was beforehand... [alert admin]

Amnesty Generator 0.6b (Mac OS X)
I have tried both versions. I have the same problem with this new one as with the last. I don't know if it's because of the type of gadget I'm trying to widgetize or what. I tried turning both the Torrent Tracker and BitGadget gadgets into widgets. They both look great in the beginning, but when I do a search that is where the problem lies. TT brings up a transparent widget that is hard to read and there is no way to scroll through the obvious findings it has gotten me. BG doesn't work at all after clicking search. It's a good idea but I think some more work needs to be done with this before it is a suitable application. [alert admin]

ComicBookLover 1.0build17(RC3) (Mac OS X)
I have to say this program is the shiznit! I have absolutely NO problems opening any cbr or cbz files. It's smart list and sorting features are phenomenal. Also, it is one of the very few programs of this nature for the Mac which fills a niche in the market. I do feel that the price is a little steep and it would be better suited at the $5-20 range, but its still well worth buying if you are majorly into digital comic books. [alert admin]

Skills 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I'd like to check this out, but by the description it is for AD&D 3.5. There is no such animal. So is this for D&D 3.5 or AD&D? [alert admin]

Why on EARTH would you pay $24.95 for this....
This doesn't create comic files, it views them ala iPhoto, iTunes, etc. You should really read descriptions before bashing a great piece of software...

I don't think $29 is too bad a price for what this baby can do.

Same problem here. I have an intel iMac. After installing 7.3 it just won't open. I haven't had a problem with iTunes since v5 and it's disappointing when this happens. And before someone says it, I don't have or use any iTunes plugins.

You know, you need to grow up and stop flaming people when all they do is comment. 1. Why would I comment on a Mac app if I were using Windows? 2. There was an option to defrag and optimize. 3. It ruined my partition. I didn't do a review since most people, not all, seem to be happy with the app. I just wanted people to know about the problems that I had. If you're happy with it,…

It does sound a lot like Shapeshifter, but from my experience this does one thing that Shapeshifter doesn't. It allows you to change the startup and login panels. I've been dying for something that did this.

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah, they got rid of the "Advanced" part of D&D once they went to the d20 system. It is now back to just plain ol' D&D.
