MacTheRipper 2.6.6 (Mac OS X)

A waste of time... on the MacBook

I updated MacTheRipper, which I had previously found to be a wonderful (exceptional) product; and now it dies on me every time I try to open it. This used to be a wonderful, exceptional product; now it does not even work. Oh well... on to another??? [alert admin]

LandscapeCalc 1.3.5 (Mac OS X)

Simple and to the point...

Great little tool that saves this geriatric mind from boggling. Really, it does what it says it will do. This would be useful for any gardener at any expert level. I highly recommend it. Now we need a GOOD landscape design app that does not need OS 9 to work.

Blackjack Gold X 1.1.3 (Mac OS X)

Good, gonna get there...

This is probably the best, and most alterable, version of Blackjack that I have seen ,that is now available. (We need to talk to the people at camelsmokes.com to bring back their casino to the Internet — awesome.) I am going to deduct 1 star because in the startup screen one is only allowed to bet after clicking on the "Done" button. Dumb! Another star deducted because the playing field is NOT full screen, I feel like I have retrogressed to 1984 and the original Mac's screen. All in all though I will buy this package as it is the most realistic version available. [alert admin]

iView MediaPro 2.0.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Limited control by the OWNER

This is really a neat and fast program/application. HOWEVER, the program has the ultimate control of the output of the final product. The owner has limited contol. Obviously this product is geared toward the photographic professional. Non-professional photographers need not attend. I regret that I paid for the Pro version, it is a waste of my time and money. If you are not a photographic professional, I think, an invest in BBEdit with this product is a good idea, as you will need it and many other things. GEDitCOM 3.5 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

If this were…

the only genealogical software available for the Mac I would bite bullet and go with. However, it isn't. The GUI is weird and reminds me of DOS not OS X. It will not let you customize dates and it does not check for dating error, i.e., I entered my b. 1945 and my spouse's as 0500 BC. It accepted it without a question. I think you have a good product so I will give you 3 stars. But no thank you I will stick with Reunion 8.x. [alert admin]

Quickie X Web Albums 3.0 (Mac OS X)

I like Quickie…

X it is not as fast as MuchoThumbs Pro but it is cheaper—$23 vs. $30, respectively. However, it does several things that I like that MT Pro doesn't do. I'll buy it. [alert admin]

Unknown object type error

I have the same problem and the developer's site isn't helpful and, in fact, doesn't even mention the app/plugin.
