TinkerTool System 2.1 (Mac OS X)
Excellent software, just one or two suggestions ![]()

I just wish TinkerTool System and TinkerTool were combined into one application. It would just make life a bit more simple. Otherwise it makes an excellent replacement for Xupport which seems to have been abandoned by the developer. [ The upgrade cost should also be rethought. Say maybe $5.00 USD off for an upgrade. Just MHO. [alert admin]

Xupport 3.5.0 (Mac OS X)
There's a lot of other software that does what this does ![]()

When there's a version that works with the current version of the OS this program is tough to beat. Unfortunately updates are so few and far between and with absolutely NO communication from the developer, I'm forced to conclude that this is abandonware. If this software works with your current version of OS X, good for you. It really is a great program but with no support. I personally have given up on it. I currently use Tinkertool/Tinkertool System. little more difficult to use since it consists of two applications, but it is regularly updated and costs $5.00 less. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.6.1 (Mac OS X)
I too have been an OS X user since day one, and this update is the worst I've ever installed. 10.6.0 broke a few apps, but that was understandable. All in all it was stable and nothing odd happened. After installing the 10.6.1 update I've been having hangs every few hours lasting about 30 seconds. Unfortunately it freezes Activity Monitor so I have no idea which process is causing the hang. It also changed some of Finder's prefs, turning on "Empty Trash securely" among other things. It even truncated some of my Safari bookmarks. If you haven't installed this update, it might be a good idea to wait for 10.6.2. [alert admin]

MPFreaker 1.8b11 (Mac OS X)
Great app. It's stable on my system and I gave it a real workout. It found lyrics for about 2/3 of my library, which is pretty good considering all the esoteric stuff I have. It also found quite a bit of artwork. I just hope there's either a new beta or a stable release soon since 1.8b11 is going to stop working in a few hours. Not many applications get my money this fast. [alert admin]

Powder 105 (Mac OS X)
It might be fun if it weren't for the font. There's good retro and there's bad retro. [alert admin]

Disk Inventory X 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This is one of the most useful utilities ever written for OS X. As drives get larger we get lazy about conserving space until we're almost running out. Disk Inventory X helped me find many long forgotten files and reclaim many gigs of space. This program is so useful it really shouldn't be free. Donate! [alert admin]
