Kaspersky Anti-Virus Definitions 06 May 2009 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Horrible tech support and no phone support as advertizied on the package. Kaspersky needs to be lowered to the bottom of the juck list. I feel they stole my money on this garbage. [alert admin]

I have an PPC iMac with the latest Leopard updates, after installing this program Safari NEVER opened successfully again. I'm getting an error message that the plug -in for Safari Cookies is most likely causing the problem. I have tries everything to fix Safari and nothing works. Thankfully I have Opera and Omni as backup browers. [alert admin]

Kespersky Internet Security 2009
I have been using Kespersky Internet Security 2009 and have found it to be "weak" for computer protection. Today for instance, after I woke my computer from sleep and discovered that Kespersky was disabled. I tried to enable it and it when into a self repair mode prompting to to replace newer files. After reboot it notified that it was out of date and needed another update and reboot. I'm looking for a better security program that offers real technicial support. I think Kespersky is K-put. I did hear back from Dave Teare Co-author of 1Password and he indicated that they were able to troubleshoot the problem and believe it is fixed in this new release. Unfornately, my iMac is boxwd away until next week so I'm not able to test it until then. However, Dave graciously offered to refund my money, AND keep my registration password active in case I wanted to test the new release. That's what I call customer service...I am amazed by his reply. Perhaps I'm too cynicial from being "burned" by other software developers. I am going to revise my 1* and give them 5*. I'm hoping the new release works when I get my computer set back up next week, I must admit having the 1password work for the short time it did made my secure site logins a lot more enjoyable. 1Password 2.9.2 (Mac OS X)
I downloaded a trail version 3 weeks ago and it worked fine for 1 week, than they came out with a "newer" version. Well it kept crashing everytime I tried to open it up. I went ahead and actually bought a license today since it was on sale and I thought the trial period expired. So, now I spend $35.00 for garbage and I find that their "Customer Support" is email only and they LOVE to hear from their customers, P.S. They TRY and respond in 24-48 hours. Save your money and wait for Robo form to come out with a MAC version. [alert admin]

Adobe Reader 8.0.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I tried the new "reader" version 8.0 because I was told it opened web pages faster. Well it does, but the price paid for that is software that "calls home" for updates automatically and drains system resources. I thought my firewall was blocking the update but I turned the firewall off and still Adobeupdater hangs at 98% in the system processes of task manager. I would steer clear from this garbage. Connectix Virtual PC 6.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
up the "cost" of VPC over the years, and found I had spent close too $500.00 going from version 3 to 5. The solution...I bought a notebook with Windows and now my updates are free and speed is not an issue. [alert admin]
