Butler 3.13 (Palm OS)

Crashes, won't activate  

Once Butler starts reminding you to register, it crashes and reboots following every "reminder". This "register or I'll crash your machine" is unacceptable: if it's accidental, it suggests a buggy product; if it's intentional, it's the most heavy-handed "trial" mode I've ever seen. And yes, I HAVE purchased the product, but the registration code given won't work, and I have no response yet from customer service to fix the problem. Great concept. Absolutely awful implementation and support. [alert admin]

Yes, everyone knows what date it is  

Give the guy a break. It's not new Halloween software released two months too late. It's a maintenance release to fix a bug introduced under Mac OS 10.3.7, which just barely came out. [alert admin]
