TrueCrypt 6.2 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Truecrypt protects my privacy. I use this software to protect files on my USB device and on my PC. The guided creating of an image file is very easy. I can only recommend software in this times when the government has even a look to your PC. [alert admin]

VLC is the best video player of the world - my oppinion. The current version crashes sometimes with simple mp4 files from onlinetvrecorder.com :( Older versions seems to be more stable and more cpu efficent. At least I like it! [alert admin]

Since the beginning of my working life I use this editor for converting PLC code from S7 to Beckhoff. It's a very useful and handy editor, although some small malfunctions included. I like the session function but it was not working in some versions :( Now it is announced to be corrected again and seems to be stable enough for use, thx. I think it is not only a good converter it seems to be a very good editor, too. [alert admin]

TUGZip 3.5 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
TugZip is a very great application. It is the best choice for people who need also an extraction function for .rar and .ace files. Two points are not well implemented: - Extracting files to USB devices does not even work. - The interface on windows shows sometimes cropped windows, so that for example a OK button is hidden. TortoiseSVN 1.6.2 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Tortoise is very easy to use, because it comes as context menu entries. Crearting working copies is very simple and realy works instead of some other tools. I use it every day for my private projects and at work. [alert admin]

HandBrake 0.9.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
As I bought my first Video iPod I was looking for a DVD ripper. At the end I found HandBrake, which comes with several options and device presettings and works with a lot of my DVDs, but fails sometimes on some copy protections. [alert admin]

It is a little bit ago that I need a free FTP client, which needs no installation and runs from an USB stick, because installing apps in our college computers was not allowed. FileZilla was the best one of all available clients - it came even with the same interface on my private Linux PC and the college PC with installed Windows and was very easy to use. Today FileZilla is still installed on my USB sticks :) [alert admin]

PSPad unicode 4.5.4.2325 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
PSPad is one of the most productive text editor I've ever seen.It is possible to open a hughe number of file types. I'm excited about user-defined highlighters. This is one of the best ideas that could be part of an editor. I'm working on IEC61131 code and it was a good way to coloring the code instead of stupid black code lines. My most used feature is the text difference viewer fucntion. It helps me to get a quick overview of recent changes in my code. Last but not least - this app is for free :)))) [alert admin]
