iCab 3.0.5 (Mac OS 9)
This is no longer usable. Slow and crashes after non-use if the page you leave it on hass RSS feeds. Not modern enough for todays web. Will go back to Netscape 7.02 when on a classic MacOS machine [alert admin]

This browser sure has come a long way. They have managed to update the interface and polish it a bit without slowing it down speed-wise. But having used it a couple hours now, I find it useable only as a secondary browser. There are several deal breakers that stop me from using it as my primary browser. Others have mentioned a few of these shortfalls already and they are omissions, that in today's world, should automatically be included a part of the browser.
iCab Shortcomings:
1) No automatic password saving for signing in on websites (if they ever add this feature, I hope they do it right. Camino is another great browser but only allows saving one password per site. This is no good if you have more than one person using the same computer or if one person has several accounts).
2) No direct inline keyword search. This important & extremely handy feature allows the user to highlight any word on a web page and with a click & hold, bring down a pull-down menu to "Search Web for insert keyword". I use this all the time in several other browsers and it shouldn't have been left out. It saves multiple steps when you want to check something out whether it be the meaning of a word, search the specs on a model number, etc...
3) Very limited tab management abilities. OK, I'm a little spoiled. I've been using one Mozilla-based browser add on for quite some time called "Tab Clicking Options" on some browsers and installed "TwiceTab" for Safari to extend the limited settings for Tabs in those browsers. I like to be able to simply double click on a tab bar and automatically have a new tab appear. I also like to be able to double click any where on an existing tab and have it close. Yes, iCab provides a very small X to click off the tab but I still prefer the easier double clicking anywhere on the tab.
What I like about iCab:
1) Send Mail Feature
2) Browser Identity Feature Although, some websites still ban certain OS's so it would be nice if there was a way to disguise that too.
3) The New OSX-like Preferences interface
4) Check Bookmarks Feature This is priceless.
Lastly, there were only two other minor things that didn't really fit well into any of the categories above. Separators in the bookmarks are needed to separate groups of bookmarks. I have hundreds if not a couple thousand bookmarks. When they were imported without any separators, it was a mess. Please add bookmark separators. Also, the auto spell check as you type was not working until I turned it off and on again. This may be just a minor bug and after resetting it, the feature seems to work fine.
Overall, it looks to be a big improvement over the previous versions but comes up short as being useful as a primary browser even if it were free.

MPlayer 2.0b8r5 (Mac OS X)
.NSV (WinAmp) video in OS X can no longer be played!! ![]()

With this beta 2 version, WinAmp Windows media that played fairly well in Mplayer Version 1.0r1, can no longer even open a .nsv file. Users will soon have no way (w/o compiling their own open source player or using a virtualization program on an Intel mac) to play the proprietary WinAmp video (.nsv). This is really too bad. Mplayer Version 1.0r1 atleast could play some of these! I do not recommend this beta. Even the newer version that says it is fixed. Sorry folks...it's still broken. [alert admin]

Acropolis 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Unplayable on a G4 iMac 800MHz computer running OSX 10.3.9 768MB ram. I get almost 1 FPS. Slow as a dog. This demo seems unoptimized or requires a fast (a very fast) G5. [alert admin]

BitTorrent 4.4.0 (Mac OS X)
PLEASE RENAME THIS SOFTWARE: Kernel Panic 4.4.0
I did everything from checking panic.logs, reseated memory & graphics card, did a software mem check (no errors found), disk verify and repair (no repair needed), permissions check and repair (routine repair), & finally a complete OSX 10.3.9 clean re-install but NEVER thought it could be this newest addition to my previously stable system. THE PROBLEM: BitTorrent 4.4.0 turned out to be the culprit. Previous versions have been VERY stable but what happened here? Memory Leak? Version 4.4.0 will run for about 30-60 mins and then causes a kernel panic. If you have downloaded this particular version and your system suddenly becomes less than reliable...blame Bittorrent 4.4.0 [alert admin]

NeoOffice/J 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Preferences can not be launched...
This bug is particularly frustrating. I tried to change the cell highlight color from the default black which is very annoying. The preferences can be selected from the menu but nothing happens after that. Also it's alittle sluggish with my 1.4GHz G4 so you may need a G5 minimum to use as an MS Office replacement. Needs some polish! [alert admin]

Downloaded it to work computer (G4 1.4GHz OSX.3.7) with no problems. I was very impressed with it. So much so that I downloaded it at home (G4 iMac 800MHz OSX.3.7). iResize 2.0 will not startup. It causes a NilObjectException error upon launch. [alert admin]
