Window Tamer 2.1 (Mac OS 9)
solutions I've tried so far, this is my favourite. Batch settings would be most welcome, although I have little hope Window Tamer is in development any more. By the way, this is the only working address I know of:

IconCleaner 1.1.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
this application very helpful. Occasionally, some old (Mac OS 7.x) icon hangs on although the invisible icon file inside the folder is gone; I suspect this could be a Finder issue... (9.2.2) [alert admin]

iCab X 2.9.1 (Mac OS X)
from the start. Its "ninja-like" configurability (any such word?) is but one of the reasons for this choice. Since 2.9 it does seem faster as well; the speed has been one of the major issues for me. Also, since I use it in 9.2.2 as well (still boot there...) I let them use the same preferences folder. :-) [alert admin]

LinkConverter 1.2.1 (Mac OS 9)
it to convert a lot of Netscape and Explorer bookmarks to the Mac OS url clipping format. It has always worked very well. [alert admin]

does not work for me. Apple's .mac site says the page can not be found. Perhaps its just temporary, or...? Any idea, or an alternative link? Thanks. [alert admin]

iCab 2.8.2 (Mac OS 9)
of browser from its first release. Still, I'm sad to say, I don't experience the relatively fast rendering of pages as in, for instance, Netscape 4.79, which is for that reason my secondary choice of browser. [alert admin]
