WiFind 1.4.2 (Mac OS X)
Let's try this again because someone's posting "good" reviews for a product that really doesn't do anything or posting silly stuff about the author having personal problems (what is that, btw?). Leopard already has the features this product promotes. This product does not improve or enhance in any way the available WiFi connections. I bought this product and promoted it for quite some time prior to Leopard but it was really only handy to see which connections were password protected or open to the public. In Tiger it may be helpful but Leopard is much better than Tiger and anyone still using Tiger would be far better off buying Leopard rather then buying this particular product. Now if anyone else follows this post and claims "it's fantastic! I couldn't live without it! The author is a great guy, blah blah blah" then I'd say those posting are not genuine. [alert admin]

WiFind 1.4.2 (Mac OS X)
This is the second time I'm posting - the last post simply "disappeared". No Leopard user needs to waste their money buying this product. If you're still using Tiger and can't figure out what WiFi connections are open to the public or locked with a password then get off your can and install Leopard. You DO NOT need this product at all. It DOES NOT enhance your WiFi connection in any way, shape or form. Anyone posting that it does or it is a "must have" has to be a plant. [alert admin]

CheckUp 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I purchased this product, a single license that can be used on two computers, for $49. It installed and runs well on the Mac Pro but it didn't take long before I incurred a kernal panic and the whole system went down. I installed it on my MacBook and it bounced in the dock for a long time then went into a beacball. I restarted the laptop and tried again - and again - to no avail. The product would not work on the MacBook. Thus, $50 right down the drain. I recommend other Mac users avoid this product entirely. It is NOT ready for prime time and I blame the developers for failing to ensure this product works with all systems and works without causing kernal panics and taking down your entire system. GarageSale 4.0 (Mac OS X)
To all of you complaining about the additional cost for v4.0. If you bought GarageSale after October 1, 2007, the upgrade is free. If you bought it prior to that and have a valid verifiable license the cost is just $15. If you used one of the many P2P serial numbers then you're going to have to open that wallet and actually BUY yourself a license. GarageSale is the premier eBay auction software for Mac users. iSale is far behind and this new version adds so many new features it is well worth the full price of $39. I do ALOT of selling on eBay and used both GarageSale and iSale. I've never had a failed auction with GarageSale. So please quit whining. These guys worked hard on upgrading this product and they've done a fine job. If you refuse to upgrade or buy a license then by all means, use the free eBay services. Create your own auctions and hope/pray your products/items sell but know that if you used GarageSale they would more than likely be assured of selling. BTW, I'm not associated with this product other then by purchased license. It just works well. [alert admin]

Transmission 1.01 (Mac OS X)
I've stuck with v.072 because it was the best release but now very happy with this last release because it is fast, solid, easy to use, allows me to make torrents and share them easily and hides in the background taking up little resources. Kudos to the author for finally getting it right. Also want to thank "The OS/2 Guy" (os2guy.com blog) for encouraging me to download and try this version. My download speed shot way up and my uploads were just as strong. I concur and recommend this release. [alert admin]

Transmission 0.95 (Mac OS X)
I don't understand this author nor why he is so determined to destroy his own product. He keeps mucking it up time after time. You can't slide any file across your screen and over the Transmission application without bringing your system to a total halt. WHAT THE F is that??? Get over this stupid business of dragging a file to the main window to make a torrent. IT DOES NOT WORK! Add a simply "Create a Torrent" in the drop down menu. And what is with the destruction of the download speeds? v70+ through v80 used to scream at downloading. After that the author has just mucked Transmission up with all his stupid addons and pretty crap that Transmission just halts and stalls. Geez, I get better transfer using Acquisition and that thing is a DOG! I can't stand it. I've got a version 80 and I'm staying there. Someday this author will "get it" and cease this ungodly desire to muck up his own program. All this guy is doing is using his customers as guinea pigs and beta testers. You use his updates and you take your downloading/uploading life in his hands and he'd drop you in a minute! [alert admin]

Transmission 0.94 (Mac OS X)
This product was good once - fast, crisp a great little P2P program but the author has now munged it up with a bunch of new features (torrent creation) and has caused the program to slow transfers or stop them all together announcing "insufficient resources". It is sad that he has to screw it up so badly. I keep going back to the 70+ versions. You can run a file across the top of the screen to the other side of your display without the file getting caught midway through Transmission. That's ridiculous of course. I guess the thought it was a "cool" feature but it is crap. Try and import a torrent and the damn thing crashes and you've got to start all over again while it puts every file on pause and checks the download contents. That can take quite some time. And although I hate it, I just switch to Azureus - another download dog but at least it gets the job done. And please, don't tell me it is my system. Tomato et all run perfectly fine, fast and nice and these are all unfettered with crap P2P applications. [alert admin]

RealPlayer 11 build 631 (Mac OS X)
It's big, bulky, and not that impressive over RealPlayer Gold 10. It works alright as far as I can see but it needs much more of a GUI refinement, smaller controls that are less intrusive and glaring. Those things take away from the video as it is player. For now my advice is to stick with Gold 10 and let RealMedia buckle down and do a bit more work. [alert admin]

iToner 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
I'm now dealing with an iPhone that falters and won't work correctly ever since buying iToner and then iTunes wiping it and my carefully created ringtones off my iPhone. After that all I had was repeated trouble with my iPhone. I went in to Apple to see if they could fix it but they said because I used third party software on it I was lucky that it did not stop working entirely. They wouldn't help me. When I wrote to the iToner people they didn't respond. I wrote probably ten times and they never have sent me back an email, or my money or an apology. Now all I have is an iPhone that doesn't work right. Thanks iToner. [alert admin]

Best torrent client I came across
If you're a developer then you should know better. Transmission is the preferred and the best p2p Torrent application for Mac Users. Azureus looks nice, is laden with features but it is slow and a system resource hog. Example: I can select ten torrents to download via Azureus. I have a 9Mps connection through Covat. I should see easily 200 to 600kbs through Azureus. I get - at most -…

Ease of use is often worth the $$
Hummm.... don't count on RealMedia. Licensing begins at $50,000 and we're only talking about one video format. The VH developers have to pay all the other media owners, including MS for WMV, too. But I would very much like to see a high quality multi-media conversion program and VH is going in that direction!
