Firefox 3.0 (Mac OS X)
Seems to run OK - LogMeIn does NOT work with it. ![]()

I checked this one out tonight on my MPB running 10.5.3. Everything runs fine (except a few extensions and themes), the application seems snappy, and I do like the new UI. One thing that is a deal-breaker for me is an incompatibility with LogMeIn. It does not work using LogMeIn's default remote control method, Active-X (crashes Firefox 3), but using Java does work - sort of (the graphics are broken up and unusable). For that reason, I'll not be using this version until that's fixed. Otherwise, I'd recommend it, since it seems to work pretty well. [alert admin]

Apple Boot Camp 2.1 (Mac OS X)
I've used both Apple Software Update and downloaded the stand-alone installer for this update and it WILL NOT INSTALL. I also tried downloading the installer through Software Update, then running it. Still would not work.
I've tried multiple times, each installation attempt failing with a very cryptic error message (1603) and no indication of what went wrong.
I turned on Microsoft Installer Logging, which gave me alot of information I don't know how to use. Perhaps someone else knows what to do with this information...
Anyone know what the deal is with this puppy?

HamachiX 1C3 (Mac OS X)
The system requirements for this say Intel or PPC, but the Kernel Extensions provided with this package are Intel only, making it basically useless you have an Intel Mac. Either the developer needs to resolve this or VersionTracker needs to change the listed requirements. Thanks, [alert admin]

AVG Anti-Virus Professional Edition 8.0.81a1271 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I've been using the 7.x version of this product for over 2 years with no trouble - it is wonderful. So I thought I would check out version 8.0. What a mistake! It trashed my Outlook to the point where I had to completely uninstall Office and re-install it. It prevented Outlook from receiving mail - nothing I did could repair it. I also emailed the developers with no response (after 4 days). I hope these guys don't trash a great program, because version 7.x is rock solid. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X PPC 10.4.10 (Mac OS X)
I did not have any problems with this update (at least so far). Since I noticed that this updated modified OS components related to USB devices, I did something I usually don't do - I disconnected all my FireWire drives before running the update, then ran the update, restarted, repaired disk permissions, *then* re-connected the FireWire drives. I don't know if this helped, but it seems to have worked... [alert admin]

TapDex 3.2 (Mac OS X)
This utility is simple to use and does it's job perfectly. I applaud the developers on a job well-done. [alert admin]

Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11n 7.1 (Mac OS X)
I purchased this new base station about a week ago, and it's been nothing but trouble. At least before this update, it was stable for the most part - now it's WORSE!
I'm an experienced Mac user and I've been unable to make this POS work consistently and reliably. I've tried many, many different configurations, each more troublesome than the next.
I don't really want to go to a non-Apple brand, but I'm afraid I'll have to if Apple can't get it right.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.7 (Mac OS X)
This release seems particularly buggy and crashes alot. It appears that whoever was testing this one wasn't paying attention. I've reverted to version 1.5.0.6. Doing this eliminated all the crashes... [alert admin]

CronniX 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Developer posted Intel only version
The developer of this product appears to have posted an Intel-only version, not a Universal Binary as stated. That is why it won't run on a non-Intel Macs. Hopefully, they'll post a real Universal Binary soon. [alert admin]

Hangs on import of Entourage mbox file
I really want to like this program - really - it looks good and seems to do a good job of searching. Except when I try to import an mbox file from Microsoft Entourage. Then, it just hangs.
When I chech the Activity Monitor, it's taking up all the processor resources, and even when I force quit the program, the perl process is spawns keeps going.
I hope the developer is reading these reviews, because if he/she can resovle this for me, I'm going to buy it...

upgrade means buy the package again
The problem with Digital River and the price problem (which their customer service denied the first time I called), now appears to be resolved, as I just purchased the upgrade for $29.99.
