SoonR 1.3.6 (Mac OS X)
It works now. But they have put out 2 more versions that don't show up in VersionTracker. [alert admin]

Pay It Down 1.1 (Mac OS X)
if I download the link with Safari, the resulting Pay It Down.dmg file will not mount with "mounting failed". If I try to double click the .dmg file, it says "The following disk images failed to mount Pay It Down.dmg error -199" If I option-click the download link, and then double click the payitdown.dmg.gz file, I get ""Unable to unarchive "payitdown.dmg.gz" into "Downloads". (Error 1 - Operation not permitted.) [alert admin]

Yahoo! Messenger 3.0b2.78326 (Mac OS X)
Compared to previous versions, at least under Leopard 10.5.2, there are frustrating pauses in responsiveness, especially around the time of Growl notifications. Every time a buddy logs on/off, I get a freeze in UI. If I'm typing in the chat window, nothing shows up...but then all of the text that I was typing will show up at once. [alert admin]

Great implementation, but i have a 24" screen...I'd love to be able to zoom it out to full resolution so the tiles would be bigger. [alert admin]

SoonR 1.1.8 (Mac OS X)
FANTASTIC service used with my iPhone for many months. Unfortunately, the SoonR daemon is not compatible with Leopard 10.5. They are aware of this and are working on an update as of 11/4/07 [alert admin]

Canon CanoScan Toolbox 4.9.3.3 (Mac OS X)
Anybody with LIDE 25 and Intel Macs?
Great to have the CanoScan application Intel-native. But unfortunately, it reports a "can't find driver" error when I try to use it with my Intel iMac and my LIDE 30. Anybody have luck? [alert admin]

Yahoo! Messenger 3.0b1r2 (Mac OS X)
I saw someone refer to the video feature as "OK". Huh? I've never seen video on yahoo at more than a frame per second, or seemingly that way. Is it usually higher FPS on the Mac? Windows? [alert admin]

CUPS-PDF 2.4.0 (Mac OS X)
Another advantage: page re-ordering
Here's another advantage over using OSX's built-in PDF printing capabilities: With CUPS-PDF, you can select to print pages in reverse order, odd-or-even-only pages, etc. In OSX under the Paper Handling option in the Print... dialog, you can select to print pages in reverse order, etc. Unfortunately, these only work for a REAL printer. If you select to reverse the order of your printing and then select the PDF popdown button (really, what IS that control called?), you still get your document with the original page ordering. Why is this useful? I have a sheetfed scanner that I use to scan documents to PDF. My scanner does not support duplex (both-sides) scanning automatically. I can manually re-order the pages in reverse and then re-scan them, but using CUPS-PDF to do it for me really helps. I can then use something like Combine PDFs to merge the documents together, giving me the normal order I need [alert admin]

1st Gen iPhone Bricked with 2.0.1
Be sure that you're connecting the iPhone DIRECTLY to the USB cable, and not through the iPhone dock. Also, make sure that the cable is DIRECTLY connected to your computer, not to a USB hub. See if that helps. It did for me.

"I downloaded iPhoto 08 free, along with other free Apple downloads, after seeing this could be done in Preview." •What are you talking about? "Now I find every day my chosen desk top picture...replaced by Apple Adverts for their products. I cannot get any response out of Apple either, or find out how to switch off the interference." •Totally bizarre behavior...there are no "Apple Adverts" anywhere in the system that I know of. Perhaps you're talking about…

It appears to be a Safari-specific bug, at least as of 3-18-2006. Try loading the page in Camino and it works fine.
