After totally misunderstanding how to create a Raid backup system, I managed to trash one of my existing external LaCie Firewire drives. Thanks to Data Rescue II and the help of their staff, I have now recovered all 300 GB of information and can breath normally once more. Great product. Great company. Great service. Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I have tried to download the update several times. Each time I get an image of Toast. Toast 8 opens and after a long wait says it cannot open the file as it is not supported. Has anybody else managed to successfully download this important update and install it into Adobe Photoshop Elements? Regards, Michael Kitchen [alert admin]

Griffin PowerMate X 2.0b20 (Mac OS X)
What has happened to the Global settings which was used for adjusting the volume of the Sound effects from System Preferences. Still very flaky to get the Powermate to work through a USB hub. Is this a problem with Mac OS 10.4.9? I now have two Powermates and neither work properly now, although they original one was faultless for several years. Michael Kitchen [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 7.1 (Mac OS X)
Great to see an update of iTunes, but why have Apple alienated G-Force. Still not able to show their superior visualizer on a second screen which does not have the Mac OS on it. Come on Apple. It was good enough for the last few years and you have done nothing to update your own visualizer. Give G-Force a chance once more. Give them the code! Michael Kitchen, UK [alert admin]

Mactracker 4.0.5 (Mac OS X)
The Download link takes me the .Mac page which will not let me download your update (normally through Speed Download). Had to go through Google, then MacUpdate to get there. Very weird and the first time that has happened. Michael Kitchen, UK [alert admin]

After an initial glitch downloading G-Force, the Speed Download team sorted it out and we are again cooking with gas. I would not be without Speed Download for all my updates. Regards, Michael K [alert admin]

Wacom Tablet 4.94-4 (Mac OS X)
Great to find the pointer now moving between the PowerBook screen and attached 19 inch monitor using the Wacom Tablet, just as the mouse does. [alert admin]

Thanks. It worked a treat. Pity Adobe does not use the normal '.pkg' protocol for such updates. Regards, Michael

While I realise that a Beta may have faults, even with Version 1.6.4 the original Powermate (several years old) and a brand new one would not 'boot up' properly after a restart. I do wonder whether the problem is connected with the upgrade to OS 10.4.9 from 10.4.8. Regards, Michael Kitchen
