MAMP 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Turck?

Why not use eAccelerator, which is the currently developed version of Turck (which is now seriously old)? I have it running on a Mini/Tiger, so it does compile and work fine... Otherwise, great app! [alert admin]

Home and Away 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Ooops

Great concept, but for me there's a showstopper... It doesn't seem to support one share type: NFS. Keep up the great work! [alert admin]

OnyX 1.5.0 (Mac OS X)

Avoid!

I don't know how, but somewhere between "Optimize entire system" and "Run maintenance scripts" Onyx totally hosed my system. I knew something was amiss when apps wouldn't launch anymore before the reboot. I now have to reinstall OS X as it won't even boot anymore; tried all the tricks. ARGH! [alert admin]

Sweet!

This is sexy... Nice app with pretty much all the goodies you need to manage the server. Clean looking as well. Props, and thanks for supporting the Mac platform. [alert admin]

Does the mechanism...

Precisely... Zap the PRAM, format the drive with a fresh OS. Only then plug in the network cable. Result - one stolen Mac.

PITA to obtain

Sure you should have paid for the hardware. What else would you use a CISCO VPN client for? My company has it, and I've got to maintain a Panther partition in order to remain connect to work remotely because this new one doesn't work for me under Tiger. It connects, but doesn't set up any networking. I tried both TCP and UDP transports - TCP flat out doesn't work, UDP as…

Avoid!

Of course Onyx *shouldn't* have done anything to hose the system, but it DID. It immediately affected my system. I had to literally delete any and all traces of OS X on the drive, run NDD and reinstall after several failed install attempts. Something was seriously bunged up with the drive/filesystem. I will never use Onyx again.
