ChordBook X 3.6.1 (Mac OS X)
I uploaded a copy of it to Rapidshare. The company that made it is gone. http://rapidshare.com/files/202585642/cbv36.1.zip.html [alert admin]

iAntiVirus 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Seems like a pretty decent piece of software ![]()

Seems to be the only Free Mac antivirus software that does full real time monitoring. Clam's sentry doesn't really compare. Also unlike Clamxav it has heuristics which in theory allow it to detect unknown viruses and variants of known viruses. I don't think it detects Window viruses but It did stop me from even downloading the Eicar.com test virus in Firefox which while expected at least shows it's paying attention. It is also very light on system resources. So it really can't hurt to run it. For most average users it may end up being a solution in search of a problem but another layer of security is never a bad thing if it stays out of your way. Finally enough with the slamming users who use Antivirus software on the Mac. It's a choice, and it's not hurting you. Quit whining already. [alert admin]

Lockdown 1.0.6 (Mac OS X)
Started with 1.0.5 and now on 1.0.6. Works as stated and is a fantastic piece of freeware. I highly recommend that you donate if you find the product useful. Btw changelog for 1.0.6 since it isn't posted here. Version 1.0.6 - Splash screen now fades away after 60 seconds - Fixed issue with setting Lockdown's "Motion Sensitivity" to high. Important: If you are experiencing problems with Lockdown's alarm triggering too easily, you'll need to drag the slider at least one tick mark away from its current location. Afterwards, you can then drag it back to wherever you'd like. - Added more documentation to Lockdown's interface [alert admin]

USBCat 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I'm using 2.01 on a C2D Macbook and it works great. I currently have it playing the XP Hardware Insert and XP Hardware Removal sounds as they do the job nicely. Extremely bizarre IMHO to by default have no sound play when you insert something into a Mac. Anyway I can confirm that A) it works on new Intel hardware and B) you can in fact choose which sounds you want. For Free that isn't too bad. [alert admin]

SafariStand 3.1L161 (Mac OS X)
Toolbar buttons don't work with 10.5.4 and Safari 3.12 ![]()

On every Safari restart you lose the toolbar buttons that come with Safari Stand. The New Tab button and Safari Stand buttons etc disappear with every Safari restart. So I guess we're back to having to pay $2 for the privilege of having a New Tab button in Safari. [alert admin]

D2X-XL 1.13.44 (Mac OS X)
Be very careful running this if you hold your Macbook on your lap(probably not recommended anyway). My cpu temp jumped to 86C and total meltdown is not far from that. If I didn't have temperature montior running I never would have known how hot it was getting. This app is a must btw for C2D Macbook owners http://www.bresink.com/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html Even though the graphics are very primitive this game is a real Cpu torture tester so be careful. Musorg 0.3.0 (Mac OS X)
0.3.0 is just great. I saw some others reporting crashes but 0.3.0 seems solid on my c2d macbook. I haven't tried tagging more than 20 tags at once but up to 20 mass tagging and renaming works fine. It does everything I need and most importantly is Free! [alert admin]

Nice. Thanks. $2 really isn't a big deal but this is functionality that should be part of Safari, Period. Btw, where the h*** is the option to make new tabs open with your homepage? Command click on Homepage icon does it but I don't want to have to use the keyboard for this.
