Apple MacBook Pro EFI Firmware 1.5 (Mac OS X)
Running a MacBook Pro with all previously available updates installed. According to my System Profiler, my Boot ROM Version reads as MBP22.00A5.B07. I downloaded and tried to install MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Version 1.5 and it messages that "This computer does not need tis update" and only offers a "close" prompt. What's next? [alert admin]

Yep 1.7.8 (Mac OS X)
Have been using Yep! for a while, replacing Paperport for document management (when I moved over to the MAC-side from a PC), specifically *.pdf's that track workflow of customer PO's, vendor acknowledgements, and invoices. Could not be any easier than this. The flexibility in the viewer and integration make it considerably simpler than Paperport (which only works on Windows) and at a FRACTION of the cost. Any questions I've had were answered personally and promptly by the staff. [alert admin]

Purchased Yep! to replace PaperPort, a Windows (ONLY) document manager. Yep! is easier and faster, and keeps me on the MAC side of my MacBook Pro. I have it set up the same way that PaperPort was setup, so the transition was seamless. The only element missing is the ability to adjust alignment (in degrees) from mis-sent faxes. On the other hand, it has a lot of features (like adjusting the size of thumbnails) that PaperPort never attempted. Additionally, it's a fraction of the cost. It performs exactly as advertised. PageSender 4.0 (Mac OS X)
Purchased PageSender 4.0 to overcome some issues with the fax program in OS X (10.4.9). The MAC was not always answering the ring/picking up/receiving faxes consistently. Given that receiving faxes (from the few left that send them) is critical to my business, I decided to upgrade to PageSender. Since I deal almost exclusivel with *.pdf's for fax mode (either send or receive), I have not experienced the issues noted in other reviews. So far, the program is doing what I need and as long as it doesn't miss inbound faxes I'm satisfied (maybe that's a low bar, but it is what it is). As I use the program more frequently, I'll update my review. [alert admin]

Thank you for a non-emotional (objective) review. Many have been outbursts against MS and not necessarily well grounded as to IT skills. While it would be nice to have these things "idiot-proof", it just doesn't appear to go with the territory. Have NOT installed 2008 as yet because 2004 is working OK and there have been sooooooooo many negative posts on 2008. WIll be interested in how it responds for you over the next…
