uBar 1.0.4 (Mac OS X)
Seriously, even a hardcore Windows user would vomit after seeing this. Long ago on OS9 there was an app like this called, "Action Go Mac." It was actually pretty cool as OS9 just had the Task Strip. After all these years past OS9 there is no need for this. Now a days if someone wants a Windows interface, they'll just use --- well --- friggin Windows. This thing just goes against the entire interface in a bad way. I mean, the reaction to seeing this thing in action is visceral. NO, just NO! GONG! GONG! GONG! Screw the obvious Human Interface Guideline infractions. This code turd doesn't even make navigation of the OS better. uBar has made an innovation by making OSX more complicated than it's Windows brother. This should be renamed, FuBar. It blows big time and I mean that in the highest of goat way. Bahhhhhhhhhhhh. Remember kids, bah means, " NO!" [alert admin]

Mac Restart X 1.1.3 (Mac OS X)
Why in the name of Bob are you charging, let alone, making this app for a feature that is built into the system? Anyone can access the Energy Saver Preferences and start up, wake, shut down and YES frikkin RESTART their computer. Defend thy self lest ye be revealed as a No-ware Salesman. If someone is going to say, " Oh but this crap tells you before it shuts down." Then you are indeed correct. Just set an iCal Alarm to warn you just before it shuts down. Make things the system doesn't do already in an obvious way. But don't feel too bad... Just look at the bantha doo doo that's flooding the iTunes App Store. Did Apple announce a build a better flashlight contest? As far as a can tell 95% of software blows. Guess where this is being lumped? [alert admin]

Firefox 3.0 (Mac OS X)
This is the fastest Firefox yet. Not only does it render web pages swifter than any other browser, now it friggin starts up fast. Ah, and it should really be this way. The fastest browser made by the guys that invented them in the first place. Well, graphical browsers -sorry about that Lynx [alert admin]

Apple Security Update 2008-003 (Mac OS X)
8% of people on this site are 1 bit short of a byte
Here's a little lesson in software submission to versiontracker. The author(s) post their own material. Saying and believing that VT somehow was on the ball with this update before Apple shows that your view of the obvious is only overshadowed by your intelligence. Someone from Apple had to submit the update in the first place. Versiontracker doesn't submit the 3rd party software updates it posts. And just incase you are not up on current events, none of the files are hosted on this site either. Are the dead hamsters powering your brain coming back to life? That means that... what?.. guess who gave versiontracker the update in the first place? If anyone is confused, just end it now for the sake of the kittens. [alert admin]

OnyX 1.9.0b2 (Mac OS X)
"Onyx, like many applications is just a GUI wrapper for any number of commands that anyone can type in and run in the terminal some comands are over 30 years old. Onyx's interface is in beta. What it actually is... trivial. How it does it... not new. What it looks like is where the creative programming comes in." It's good software. Sure with code comes bugs but I'm starting to wonder if a few people downloaded the wrong version for their system. There are 5 different versions of Onyx, one for OS X 10.4.x, French Language Version, OS X 10.3.x, OS X 10.1 - 10.2.8, and the BETA. It's not like *censored*tail, TinkerTool System, and other similar apps are doing anything different. Don't believe the hype. The location of the options may be different. The interface may look prettier but it's just the same old song. This particular tune is free. Because it's free doesn't mean it warrants no critique. I call 'em like I see 'em. There are many applications that, based on their performance and features, should be called, "BETA" I mean c'mon Windows Vista is a Beta, but did Micro$atan call it that? Hell nah... and that's because it took 5 years to come out and it still isn't ready. So why on Earth would they tell everyone that it's still in Beta? Point is that some developers attempt to be forthcoming and honest about their releases. Software development is a work in progress. Don't get caught up in the words. If it hoses your system then it's time to complain, rant, and rave. [alert admin]

DropImageURL 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Why would you make an app that is not even needed... It's like making an app that teaches one how to chew bubble gum. What do I mean? Well well well... Print to PDF is built into OSX. You go to a page and print it. The sheet will drop down and PDF will be an option in the bottom left of the window. If you wanna get fancy you can have Preview save it out as a jpg, tif, gif, or png. Nothing wrong with reinventing the wheel. But when you charge for it make sure that it's not so easy to reveal that you are taking advantage of the general n00b population. No I have not tried it... I also have never tried smoking crack, yet know it's not something that I want to use. And no, I'm not comparing DropImageURL to smoking crack... or am I? :) [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.5 (Mac OS X)
'Cause atleast maybe they would start making good products again. I don' t do drugs or think that one should abuse them but WTF man?! So I installed this and did not notice that my Wi-Fi is not working... Not a connection problem, I mean that I cannot even get the system to acknowlege that there is even a wireless network card inside my Macbook Pro. This is reallly disappointing, really :( Sry but this confirms the somewhat steady progression towards major corporate suckage. Sure I just made up a word but will be synonymous with the transformation of a company who used to put quality first. Today Apple seems to put profit margin before stability. Perhaps, the fault, in part can be placed on the shareholders who want, want, want it to get done without regard for what the company values are based on. In any case something is wrong. If you are going to suck this bad then atleast change your name to something more appropiate, say, Applesoft. [alert admin]

Apple Security Update 2007-006 (Mac OS X)
Once again this is another update that hosed my system. Perhaps it's not a good idea to have my root volume 90% full. Since this was not an OS reinstall or a clean install I didn't think that a routine update would cause my Hard Drive to have an Incorrect Thread Count which resulted in major Directory Damage. In other words Apple had me bend over and take it hard and without lube up the rear. Oh, yeah, one could say back up your crap before an update. So I don't know what to get cautious about when it comes to this. Should I get scared over an iTunes update. Hmmmmmmmmmm, I better hang on to my little gonads with that new iCal update. My request is... Apple, you need to get back on track and strengthen your quality control across the board. Just because you sell a few iPods does not mean that you have a license to be ill. I'm a true Mac Addict and hate to see a company that started off trying to make good products and a group of nice people become just another heartless corporation. Yes, make that money, but don't shaft your users. It's already begun and you guys have to stop or else. Back to what happened. So I after installing the update my computer just hung onto the grey boot screen for 1 hour before I was convinced that I was screwed. I booted my Macbook Pro from the install disks that came with it. The Hard Drive was not recognized by the GUI disk utility app. I say GUI because unlike most of the boneheads who write reviews on Version Tracker, I actually do know what I'm doing. I then used the Terminal app on the System Restore Disk to run the disk utility app from the command line. First I tried to repair the Hard drive permissions and was unsuccessful. I tried to repair the disk. The disk utility app tried to fix the drive 3 times before it gave up and that's when it printed out the "incorrect thread count error" message. But Mema, wtf? what did you do?! I used the one thing that has saved me many a day for years, Disk Warrior. My bootable USB repair kit, TechTool Protogo, has Disk Warrior on it. I booted from TechTool Protogo, ran DW. I repaired the disk and I was saved. Oh, don't get happy yet, I had tried to reinstall my system but because of the disk damage The Tiger Install DVD would'nt allow me to do an Archive install, let alone a Clean Install. The only reason I did not call up Apple Tech Support is ONE, they suck, and TWO , I don't give up that easily. Once again, Get you act together... Adapt or Die. People like I, who have lots of money to throw at their tech don't like being kicked to the curb. We'll be watching the question is... Will you be listening? [alert admin]

You can create animation and save it out as a movie in photoshop. So the changing pattern is not a problem in photoshop. not a slight just an FYI

So what you're saying is, Corel feels threated by this app? I work for myself. I've been drawing and painting for 35 years and know what I like and want. Not everyone likes Photoshop and prefer to use Gimp. Get a bit more informed before writing that passive agressive stuff. Not everyone has the smae tastes. Deal with it.

This is the end or quite close to the end of the updates to the older OSXes. Apple is obviously going to be heading in new directions which will involve a new OSX made for the new chipsets. Adapt or die!

I kinda messed up my rateing since I forgot that the over all rating is most important, not the other star ratings. I'd actually give Panther 4 stars
