TextLightning 3.2 (Mac OS X)
We bought this a few years ago but never use it. PDF2RTFService does the same thing for free and FileJuicer, for half the price, extracts graphics as well as text. [alert admin]

Too little documentation to use ![]()

If you can figure out how to use this package with the negligible documentation provided, then you probably don't need to buy it because you will know enough to set up freeware equivalents or use Terminal. If you need even rudimentary instruction, then this is not likely to of use because it comes with virtually no instructions. The documentation is so minimal that it doesn't even explain the limitations of the demo mode. [alert admin]

Asiva Correct+Apply Color 2.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
If the photo would be wonderful if the gal had worn a different skirt--well, this will let me change it, easily and perfectly, maintaining all of the original subtleties of tone. I don't use this often--it isn't so useful as Asiva's Shift+Gain--but I would not want to be without it. [alert admin]

Asiva Selection 2.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
This is the vector-based selecting tool that Asiva base their plug-ins on. It permits applying Photoshop's built-in tools to vector-based selections. It's not so useful as their Shift+Gain but I would not want to be without it. [alert admin]

Asiva Shift+Gain 2.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
This plug-in employs a patented approach to editing colour that is as useful as it is unique. For reviews in Tidbits see http://db.tidbits.com/article/8365 and http://db.tidbits.com/article/7832 [alert admin]

QPict 7.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I have never got any version of QPict to import my Pictures folder without crashing. This version does the same. I have sent off several bug reports with crash logs but have never heard from the developer. Caveat emptor. [alert admin]

PowerMail handles attachments as attachments--as separate files accompanying messages. It will let you specify any folder to receive attachments. They will all go into that one folder but it can be any folder you like. Once received you can choose either to open an attachment from within a message or to move it to another folder or to copy it or make an alias to it. As long as it is left…
