VueScan 8.0.3 (Mac OS X)
vuescan definitely gives me the best color i can get out of a scan. it works great with my epson 2450. unfortunately i've also tried using it with a Umax PowerLook 2100 XL - an 11x17 scsi monster. it will occasionally work, but often won't. it always works with silverfast SE. I've email the author several times on this topic. his responses are slow and unfortunately in my case, inaccurate. first, he blamed the problem on my belkin scsi to firewire adapter (its not sending enough bits!). then i got the $300 adaptec card for my G5. (which he said was unnecessary because he thinks a $20 scsi card will work in that machine) so now i'll wait another week or two to see if he's going to fess up to the problem being on his end of things.
