SkypeMenuX 0.5b (Mac OS X)

Reply for Maximus

Hi Maximus, Thank's for your feedback. As the product description says, this is just like the system extra menu for iChat. If you like and use that feature of iChat, you will like this program. Some people do, some don't. That's cool. As for usage information, it is improving, but I only started this program a few weeks ago! I also thought it's fairly self explanatory, but maybe that's because I'm used to the iChat menu already. By the way, if anyone does have any questions that the installation info doesn't answer, you can contact me via my website or the sourceforge project. People have already. Cheers, Mark (SkypeMenuX developer) [alert admin]

A bit better every time

Thanks for your feedback Richard! See everyone why it's good to provide feedback, your feature requests make it into the mext version :) Everyone has different ways of using their Mac, and a developer doesn't always think of the best way to lay things out to suit people. On specifics, there is not going to be a way to have Skype not running. I can probably hide it better, but the actual connection is handled by the…

Thanks for your feedback. Are you running SkypeMenuX v0.5? (have a look in About SkypeMenuX...) - if so you should see buddies whos status is either "Online" or "Skype Me". If you still don't see them, please tell me what version of Skype and MacOS X you are using. You can log a bug at the sourceforge project for SkypeMenuX : http://sourceforge.net/projects/skypemenux please also log any information about the crashing. I haven't seen this or heard of it…

Almost like the iChat Menu Extra

One more thing, the ability to Command-drag to re-order the system menus is provided by an undocumented Apple internal API. Some people did figure it out and used it in their products, then in OSX 10.3 Apple put a specific check in the API so it couldn't be used by non-Apple products! There is a hack to get around this, but it requires installing an extension and may well be broken again in the future. This is…

FYI I have added the buddy status feature, but there is currently a problem with the versiontracker system that is not letting me update the product page. As for the option of hiding Skype, did you know that if you have Skype start automatically, you can tick the "Hide" box next to it in your user startup items list. That way when OSX starts Skype it will hide it for you.
