Waahh?

"Do you need something that serves no purpose using resources? I think not." Several thousand downloads disagree. It's entirely up to you if you choose to use it though... it's free to use or not use as you please. "The quality of this "lamp" is not great, but I'm certain with a little practice and some formal education iSlayer will create something a little more realistic." This was our first Quartz widget. I think it's an ok first attempt. "Given this was actually conceptualised by somebody else and "borrowed" by this developer one would hope for a little more effort." Borrowed what exactly? We answered a request to design a lava lamp widget. We worked hard to improve every aspect of its design. We spent a lot of time talking to the guy(s) who initially wanted it. We did it all for free. "Good for the kiddies I guess but otherwise pointless as to the function of Dashboard. Get a nice desktop picture instead." It wasn't ever supposed to have a point. [alert admin]

It's just an ornament!

I'm surprised you guys are taking this so seriously. It's just a nice looking ornament for you Dashboard. We'll certainly try and improve the lavalamp-ness of it in the future, but I don't think it deserves the harsh comments it's getting. [alert admin]

IceTV 1.02 (Mac OS X)

From the developers :: Please read more carefully!

Hi Guys. Let's set a few things straight. Firstly, we would have loved to keep developing WorldTV, but the source for the feeds was unreliable at best. IceTV have actually saved this product. We should be thanking them. Now for the most important point... THE ICETV WIDGET >>IS<< FREE! You DON'T need to be an IceTV subscriber to use it. And you don't need to pay a cent. All WorldTV features, plus a few new ones (like full program descriptions) are FREE... with 2 exceptions. Skins and pay TV. Skins might come soon, and pay TV isn't available from Ice, so it was never going to happen. So, here's what you get... FREE = 1 day of guide data (same as WorldTV), full program descriptions, and REALLY stable feeds. I can't stress that enough. The feeds are coming from a company that specialises in the TV guide data, and they care about this widget functioning properly. *IF* there is an issue, then it will be fixed very fast. It's unlikely that there will be issues though. You do need to register to use the widget now, but that's only so that Ice can make sure their server is protected from denial of service type attacks from a single user. It's a very small form to fill in. $3 a week gets you features that WorldTV never had, like 7 days of guide data and EyeTV integration. The 7 days of guide would have never happened without Ice, because we never had it available to us. The idea ISN'T that you pay $3 a week for a widget, the idea is that if you're an IceTV subscriber, then you can use ALL of their services, including the widget. For a free 14 day trial of IceTV's services, please visit their site (www.icetv.com.au). Thanks, The iSlayer team. [alert admin]

4.x lacks different colors for various forms of usage.

It'll be back soon! Give us time. In the mean time, that's available in iStat nano. :)

$595 for software emulating hardware?

I use Space Designer (part of Logic Pro)... it's a convolution reverb and very similar to Altiverb. I also have a great outboard reverb (TC Electric M3000). I use both all the time. I'll have to disagree with you about the price. A good hardware unit costs way more than USD$600, and for that you only get once instance. In a side by side comparison, I prefer convolution reverbs to some great hardware units sometime (depends on…

Disappointing!

I'm sorry we didn't send a personal thank you. Due to the amount of support emails we receive it's very difficult to respond to everything (including donations). Please don't take it personally, we really do appreciate the money you have sent and it does encourage us to continue to develop these widgets. Creating good widgets and applications takes a fairly large amount of our time. We offer them for free, but donations like yours do help pay…

Fan and temp data dont work on macbook pro

We don't have access to a MacBook Pro yet. We will soon though, so there should be an update soon with working fan and temp info for it. Please understand that temp and fan info is different on most models, so it's a big job to support everything.
