Connect360 3.35 (Mac OS X)
Connect 360 works with some limitations. Other XBox sharing software has fewer limitations. ![]()

I've been using Connect360 for about 8 months now. In general, Connect360 works as advertised -- allowing you to easily access music, video, and photos stored on your Mac through the XBox 360. Version 3.31 added the feature of displaying video files in folders on the XBox 360. Earlier versions of Connect360 just showed a flat list of video files. Unfortunately, the implementation of the folders view is very poor. Instead of showing the full hierarchy of nested folders, Connect360 flattens the folder structure and only shows the leaf folders. That is, if you have a folder "MyFavoriteShow" and then folders "Season1", "Season2", and "Season3" underneath "MyFavoriteShow" then Connect360 will list the folders "Season1", "Season2", and "Season3" without showing the higher level folder "MyFavoriteShow". If there are video files in the higher level folder, then Connect360 will show "Season1", "Season2", "Season3", and "MyFavoriteShow" all at the same level. A competing software product named "Rivet" from Cynical Peak Software correctly shows the nested folder structure and allows the XBox 360 to navigate the folder hierarchy. Connect 360 allows the user to only specify a single source folder to read video files from. This would not be a limitation if Connect360 correctly interpreted OS X aliases or symbolic links since you could add an alias that points to other video folders into your main videos folder. Unfortunately Connect360 does not correctly handle aliases so you are forced to use one folder on one disk volume to store all of your video files. The "Rivet" program mentioned above allows the user to specify multiple video source folders. This allows you to store your video files across any disk volumes connected to your Mac and have all the video files shared to your XBox 360. [alert admin]
