Microsoft Office 2008 12.2.1 (Mac OS X)

Update Microsoft Office Setup Assistant app

It appears that the problem with the Microsoft Office Setup Assistant app not updating has something to do with product registration (go figure...). I am still investigating: Cause:  An error in the Microsoft product registration system caused the system to reject some valid Office 2008 for Mac product ID numbers. Solution:  Try registering again. Microsoft has corrected the error that prevented the Microsoft product registration system from accepting some valid Office 2008 product ID numbers. Product registration is not required to use Office 2008 for Mac, and your product will work correctly regardless of registration. All customers who were previously unable to register are encouraged to try again. To access the online registration system, on the Excel menu, click Online Registration. [alert admin]

MainMenu 2.0.0 (Mac OS X)

Now for my review

For the time being, I give MainMenu 5 stars across the board. It does what it says and it does it easily... Now it is uo to the new developer (Phillip) to keep my respect now that it is a "paid for" app... Time will tell... [alert admin]

MainMenu 2.0.0 (Mac OS X)

From Rakka

This was from Rakka: Hi Users, I urgently need about $800 (not for myself, but to pay others). If you are able to help out by donating at the website, I'd appreciate it greatly. Even a dollar or two would help. Those who donate prior to MainMenu version 2.0 (shareware) are eligible for a free license when it is released. Sincerely, MainMenu Developer, aka Rakka http://www.santasw.com/donate.html [alert admin]

MainMenu 2.0.0 (Mac OS X)

I think Version 2.0 is worth it

Rakka, the previous developer has said for a long time that this app was not going to be free at the 2.0 update. The new developer that acquired MainMenu will be providing future development. I have been using MainMenu for years (for free) and love the app. The previous developer (Rakka) had problems that prohibited him from keeping up with things and was very open about it in the past... I donated to the project and to help Rakka out... He replied that there would be no charge at the 2.0 update when the app would become commercial. This morning when MainMenu notified me that there was an update available, I emailed the new owner (Phillip) and he said there would be no problem and that he would honor what Rakka said... I jumped the gun before I got Phillip's reply (15 min) and went ahead and paid $20 for this 2.0 version anyway because I LOVE MainMenu and I thought the new developer needed to make his investment back... MainMenu is worth $20 I have also found that in version 2.0 the entire UI has changed and looks great! There are also new utilities to run inside MainMenu! The main thing is that it will see future development... I think it is good hands now. Since I had already paid for this new version, Phillip, (the new developer) offered me a choice of his other software for "free". I thought that was the right thing to do and he did it... t! Permissions - lots of permission problems

If you install the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update (759 MB) - Upgrade from any version of OS X 10.5 Leopard - this will remove all (or most) permission issues... If they bother you... * Also, these permission issues can be safely ignored according to Apple.
