SOHO Organizer 5.5.1 (Mac OS X)
I spent about an hour or two in SOHO's booth at Macworld this past January, and I got a couple of the booth staffers to give me the entire rundown. I warned them not to to release that version (5.0) because it was an unfinished product, and that bad reviews would be hard to overcome. Seems they still have an unfinished product 7 months later. Now they are stuck with a bunch of 1.0 or worse reviews. [alert admin]

Calorie Counter 3.0 (Mac OS X)
I downloaded this demo, and it's just that - a VERY limited demo; some buttons don't seem to work, it's too small to really see (and I've got perfect vision), and the list of activites and other things is very limited, leaving much to be desired if he wants to sell anything. your activity is limited to hours only, not minutes, and good luck picking a different number of hours than what's offered or defining a new activity that's not listed. There are better apps that do this, but this was the first widget I've checked out. [alert admin]

RapidWeaver 3.2.1 (Mac OS X)
I'd been looking for an easy way to publish my pictures for years, and I've used nearly every available exporter for iPhoto. Rapidweaver isn't a "plugin" for iPhoto, but it links directly into your iPhoto library, including the photo comments. Not only that, but iPhoto and the other html exporters don't let you comment on the pictures or give extended details of what you are looking at. Using other page types, such as blog, or collage, or styled text, or links to external websites, or iframes, it's all there, and it works beautifully. I'm using 3.2 and there are a few bugs - none are show stoppers, but you have to quit and restart the app to get it to see changes in your iPhoto library, and sometimes you have to reset the "publishing cache" to get it to recognize page changes. Other than that, this is an excellent little app, and I've found many more uses for it other than just publishing pictures - I'm now using it for my company's intranet! [alert admin]

X-Lite 2.0b4 (Mac OS X)
Downloaded, installed. No instructions found, couldn't figure out how to configure it. Crashed after a few minutes, then I left it alone - too many other toys to play with. [alert admin]

Intuit Quicken 2004 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
When are we going to get basic functionality like Windows has? I just want to easily match my downloaded account statements with what I put in, and not have to manually match every check that goes through, or have it match already reconciled items. This program really sucks. If it's changed, please let me know, because it doesn't show that anything like that has been updated. Just more advertising direct to me with the investment news. Like I can't find that elsewhere on the web. [alert admin]

FolderGuard X 2.5.2 (Mac OS X)
I duplicated a folder (since I read the previous review) and opened it up with this program. I toggled it to be invisible. It didn't turn invisible, but everything inside it was gone. I then toggled it to be visible, and nothing came back. Good thing I used a duplicate of my important info first. [alert admin]

FormsToGo 1.0 (Mac OS X)
You should add the ability to pgp a text field before it's sent. That way, users could send secure data to you, including credit card information - it could serve as a cheap store front end. [alert admin]

CookWare 7.9 (Mac OS 9)
review software here, I'm posting this for your information. If you own an older version of the software, and want to upgrade, there is no upgrade path. the authors reply email said "Due to the huge reconstruction required to produce the OS X version of of the software, it is not a free upgrade." Huge reconstruction? Like opening the file up in Filemaker 5.5 and saving it out as a new version? (The version number between the classic version and the OS X version went from 7.8.5 ot 7.8.7, so it couldn't have been the "huge reconstruction" he said it was. The software is ok, but the upgrade policy SUCKS. [alert admin]
