Plaxo Toolbar 1.0v314 (Mac OS X)
Current version - Download link & info
VersionTracker links to an ancient file, which you should not bother with. I finally found the direct download link for the current version of the Plaxo toolbar for Macs (v. 3.7.8) -- http://down.plaxo.com/down2/mac/late...ac.zip?lang=en So, you should not have to waste time logging in, etc. just to grab this latest post. From the ReadMe file: System requirements Plaxo for Mac requires Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later and an active internet connection to sync your data. iCal sync and Apple Mail plug-in require Mac OS X version 10.4 or later. Installing Plaxo for Mac 1. We don’t anticipate any problems, but please backup your Apple Address Book and iCal calendars before you continue with this installation as a safety measure. 2. Double-click the Plaxo for Mac installer and follow the instructions that appear. 3. Don't forget to check out Plaxo.com, where you can always access your data. Known Issues: Smart Groups are not usable as Groups to Omit from Sync. Feedback: Email us at support@plaxo.com Plaxo Forums: Check out the Plaxo for Mac forum at http://forum.plaxo.com Revision Notes: The revision notes for Plaxo for Mac can be found at http://down.plaxo.com/down2/mac/releasenotes.html [alert admin]

Badia Printools 5.02 (Mac OS X)
$120 for a plug-in? Are you kidding me? This is waaayy overpriced. If Badia offered a bunch of plug-ins for around this amount of money, then maybe more people would be interested. But use of QXP continues to drop in favor of InDesign, and companies like Badia charging $120 for features that probably should already be included in QXP is not helping things at all. [alert admin]

MisFox 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Also make sure to compare this to RCDefaultApp 2.0.1 -- http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22977 Too soon to telll which one is better. Sort of sad that Apple continues to not make any effort to include this kind of software as an easy-to-access, easy-to-understand, inherent part of the OS. [alert admin]

Macaroni 2.0.8 (Mac OS X)
This is actually a comment directed at Adobe -- why can't you make applications like "the rest of us"? The vast majority of apps for the Mac do not have ANY problem with having unnecessary and extraneous languages stripped out of their packaging (=delocalization), which can save huge amounts of disk space. But, Adobe apps are too sensitive and fragile and "don't like it". Great -- another thing to keep track of that's different. [alert admin]

Adobe GoLive 9.0 (Mac OS X)
I thought Adobe had ceased development on this. Was there not a press release from them stating as much? [alert admin]

Solving the Quicktime question mark / Flash problem
Why would you suggest this? Isn't this plug-in necessary? What features and capabilities, specifically, will people LOSE if this file is deleted?

Works fine for me...ONCE I fixed
Well, your particular software setup (MacOS, apps, 3rd-party add-ons) was successful after doing the stupid "fix permissions" thing. That's good for you. But unfortunately, there are way too many variables out there in the software world and this fix does NOT work for all of us... me, for example. The adage of "Your mileage may vary" definitely applies here. Too bad Adobe has yet to acknowledge that this particular release is causing a…

Excuse me, but I DID repair permissions both before AND after installing this software, and it DOES NOT WORK for me in Safari. Your success does not mean that all people will have the same success -- there are way too many variables.
