iAntiVirus Free Edition 1.34 (Mac OS X)
Running OS 10.5.6 Alum. iMac. This software updates itself, runs itself, and does it all in the "background", and sometimes I catch it, and it has NEVER caught any malware, or viri, or that sort of thing. I'm VERY careful with what I download, and open. So far, so good. It's free, and it's good. Why not? [alert admin]

VueScan 8.5.05 (Mac OS X)
This software has saved a couple of scanners for me. A cannon, and a multipurpose HP. The HP happily document feeds and scans from the document feeder for the fax. I had to scan a 40+ page document, and it worked like magic. Went right into Preview where I was able to mark it up. I'm very Pleased. [alert admin]

SOHO Organizer 7.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Hello to all! I've used their Organizer software since 4.5, skipping what some call the "trouble years". I have a head injury, (Auto, buckle up!) and while my IQ is very high, I have some memory issues, especially running TWO business', with raising a family, and various doctors /lawyers, appt's and reports, this software was / is priceless. I got an aluminum iMac last year, and upgraded Organizer to 7, along with getting Notes and Print Essentials. It's more complicated, but that's only because it does so much more. BTW, Chronos gave me a Great deal! Support has ALWAYS been flawless, and was usually caused only by my own shortcomings. It syncs up perfectly with Address book and iCal, both ways, and instantaneously from what I see. Updated to 7.0.3 this AM, and it was fairly straightforward, I had to go back and download the PDF for SOHO notes, but, that's because I accidentally deleted it. (clumsy fingers). This software is still priceless for me, and is my "go to" app! Same goes for SOHO Notes. Together, they're great. Be sure to read the PDF's, which CAN confuse because of "single user" and "Multiple". I think they should break those down into separates, rather than include both in the same text. It would make for easier reading.... I'm happy! MacOutlaw Pete [alert admin]

Apple iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.3 (Mac OS X)
If "Activity Monitor" and the "iStatPro" widget are to be believed, instantly after restart, (and this is an aluminum iMac, also did the aluminum keyboard firmware update as well). the entire system seems more efficient. I have 2Gb ram, and in the ISP widget, it hovered around 1 Gb used, even when idling, and went up from there, although I never saw it use the full 2Gb. On AMonitor, the processors stayed about 1/4, and up. Now, they idle low, and bump up. The system feels a bit snappier. It's nice to see some resources being "used" better. I've always known that OS X had a problem with clearing memory. (RAM). Now, that seems to be over come, or helped in a big way! Thanks Apple! MacOutlaw [alert admin]

SOHO Organizer 7.0 (Mac OS X)
I see all the complaining. It's not as simple to use as the same product was @ version 4.5, or 5. I've been using it for years, and found it far superior to the Palm software, and to Apple's iapps. Now, it syncs with those, both ways. I have never had a problem with support, ever. Always an email answered within a couple to 24 hours. I'm dismayed to see so many unhappy users. Sticky Brain is gone, now you get Notes (SB's replacement), And Print Essentials. Although I still have v 5.0 from my older mac, (it still runs just fine on my new aluminum iMac, Leopard 10.5.2) I upgraded,( to 6.5.4 ) and am happy. I will try this update. There is a bit of a learning curve, because there are now three apps that do so much more! I do miss a couple of details that may be addressed here. The help files are very good, and for me, so too has been the support. I think the fuss is because maybe some folks aren't reading the support documentation. I think it's one of the best, most useful piece of software I've bought/upgraded. It really helps me stay Organized! I have no connections to the company, other than being a satisfied, paying user. pete [alert admin]

Alarm Clock Pro 6.3.5 (Mac OS X)
Mr. Tea, you need to buy Personal Organizer. You're asking for something this app was never designed for. As are lots of you folks, looking for something "Free". Ha! Keep looking, and good luck! This one seems to work great, and, so what if it has a few extra features that "don't fit you" exactly? They're extras? Get it?.... [alert admin]

Alum. iMac 2.4g As soon as I restarted, the machine "corrected" more than 100 iCal incidents that were not linked smoothly to SOHO Organizer. I'm very happy for that, as I use SOHO ORG. for everything, including my sanity... On this end, I see nothing to be afraid of. Be well, Pete

How do I convert my PO 4.5 database file to use with SOHO Orgainzer 7?
I was in your same situation. I got through it with no help, not to say that I remember exactly how. I think I went directly from 4.5, to 6, (there were errors), then to 7 for free. (there are more errors.). Nothing that I couldn't fix and attend to myself. Wish you well. Pete
