MailTags 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Previously I complained about lack of customer service. Turns out that the emails were sent with my registration codes. For some reason I never got them. But now I do and can start using MailTags again! Since I do Web design for a living, trying to keep track of all the emails I get from people asking me to do things without MailTags would be a nightmare! It is an excellent product that makes my job much easier. [alert admin]

Combine PDFs 2.1 (Mac OS X)
Fast, effecient, does exactly what it's supposed to and does it very well. I like it better than PDFJoin mainly because you see what's happening after you tell it to join the PDFs. PDFJoin provides no feedback. [alert admin]

MacSQL 3.1b8 (Mac OS X)
I find MacSQL very easy to use. I'm a big fan of phpMyAdmin and, on occassion, try a Mac-only database manager application. Usually, I very quickly switch back to phpMyAdmin. Not with MacSQL. It is a very good piece of software and I'll most likely continue to use it instead of phpMyAdmin. [alert admin]

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
RDC is an extreme help to me. It runs great on my Mac mini. Since we use FoxPro where I work, if it wasn't for RDC, I'd have to work on a PC whenever I needed to get to the FoxPro database. Thanks to RDC, I haven't had to touch a PC in years! [alert admin]

This is a great program! I've always wanted to be able to dial my phome from my Mac. Now with JPT and Vonage I can. And the customer service can't be beat! I had a problem with the Click2Call for Vanage which really had nothing to do with JPT, but I sent them an email anyway asking if they had any ideas. Even though the problem wasn't related to JPT, Jon assisted me and pointed me in the right direction to solve the problem. Now that's great customer service! I registered JPT right away! Growl 0.7.3 (Mac OS X)
This is great! When I moved from Entourage to Mail, I really missed the incoming mail notification. Now, with Growl, I can have it back! Thanks! [alert admin]

I bought RB2005 as soon as it was released and this version is the best one yet. It keeps getting better and faster. Keep it up! I do have one request, though, and this is for other posters. Can discussions be left in discussion forums? I want to read reviews! [alert admin]

I have been using REALbasic since version 2. I never really did like having multiple windows open (one for the window editor, one for the window's source code). It seems I spent more time navigating than programming (that's an exaggeration, but it did get tiresome sometimes). I find the tabbed interface much easier to navigate. I am a big fan of tabbed browsing in Safari, so the tabbed browser in REALbasic was a welcomed change for me. And you can finally have more than one project open! BUT... It is slow! That is, the compile time is slow. And, it is inconsistent. Sometimes, it will compile very quickly. Then, after making a few changes to the source, it will take several minutes to compile. I have yet to figure out what causes it to compile slow. I like the interface of REALbasic 2005 but, please, make it as fast as 5.5! [alert admin]

CharSys d20 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)
I accidently replaced the CharSys d20 folder with the CharSys d20 application on this disk image. Therefore, it crashed during launch. The disk image is back the way it should be now. Can't believe I did that! [alert admin]

Could you send a copy of the PDF you're trying to conver to macmage@maccrafters.com? I use Port Peg on nearly a daily basis to convert PDFs at work (hence the reason I wrote it) and haven't had any problems with poor quality.

These are valid points (perhaps a bit harsh, though). The floating windows were originally intended to give flexibility to those with small displays. After asking CharSys d20's registered users their opinions, about 75% liked the creation interface as is. Since 25% did not, the next version will have a choice of three different character creation interfaces.

Won't work with Tiger on my Powerbook G4
I'm not the author, but I can tell you that in Tiger, bookmarks (along with almost all Apple plists) are stored in binary format. If you're comfortable with the terminal, there is a way to convert the binary to the old XML style. In the Terminal, type plutil -convert xml1 ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist This will convert the binary into XML. I tried it and Safari loads just fine with the XML style. After…

Sheeesh... people can be stupid!
Thanks very much for your comments! I wrote Port Peg out of necessity. I had a bunch of PDFs I needed to convert to JPEGs and to create thumbnails. The only options I knew of were either Preview or Photoshop - both of which I would have to do it one file at a time. Not fun! And I don't know why the one poster complained about JPEG only. The focus of Port…
