TidyMac 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

This app makes…

cleaning up my desktop so much easier. However, since there is so much clutter on my desktop, (either that or TidyMac is a bit lazy at completing its chores), it still actually takes more than one sweep to clean up my desktop. (like, I tell it to clean it up, and even though it stuffs some images in the assigned folder, it leaves behind several other images or files without cleaning them up.) I can assure you it didn't ask me if these files were duplicates, I know they are not duplicates. It just tends to leave stuff behind on my Desktop without cleaning it up. So, it takes about 5 sweeps or so to get everything stuffed in its assigned folder. This app definately makes my life easier, but why does it have to be prodded to do its chores? Keep in mind, I've also tried an app called MacMaid, but she quit on me, (actually she had no effect on my desktop at all, and she was a lot harder to learn to use than this), so I'll give you props for giving us something that actually WORKS! Also, another note- PLEASE give us some How-To's and some Documentation or something! We need to know more about this wonderful little app. You have plenty of apps listed on the software section of your site, we just need to know more about them! But I love your TidyMac app. Perhaps I should give your a "before" and "after" screenshot that you can use on that site to show how much it can really do. However, I look forward to seeing a future release where it doesn't have to be prodded to do its chores. Nice app though! [alert admin]

Great Game. I…

haven't been able to put it down at all, however, like nigel said, there are several quirks we want resolved. 1. Can I use Command-H to HIDE the app? (it's starting to get to me, knowing that this is starting to become a strictly standard Command in OS X) This means you'll have to choose a NEW command for HINT. 2. Too many Dialog boxes getting in the way!! When I'm ready to quit everything and turn in for the day, it asks me, "Are you sure you want to quit and discard on going game?" and I sigh as I subconsiously hit the return key in response. Also, even more annoyingly, When I ask to have a new game, it asks me, "Are you sure you want to discard on going game?", even if I have no moves left and I want to start a new game, or I just got done winning, and, well, I want to start a new game. This is the utterly annoying pause in between the fun of playing this wonderful game over and over again. 3. Apparently, the SHUFFLE command means, New Game, instead of reshuffling the leftover tiles like it's supposed to be. 4. I also encountered the same folder-icon problem that nigel was talking about. If the folder that contains the icons set has an icon of its own (one that is not a regular folder icon), please don't let it use that custom folder icon in the icon set,- because many icon sets have the custom folder icon, in the icon set as well! (i.e. "Long Live the Newton!" icon set, as well as many more.) Other than that, the game is great. Keep chugging away at making it better! :D [alert admin]

NewTen 1.2 (Mac OS X)

An Idea... How…

about making it possible to install a list of multiple packages without selecting the individual packages one by one right after each other? I dont mind if I have to push the "connect" button Several times on my Newt. It's just this 'constantly-switching-between-the-mouse-&-the-styus' thing is getting to me. I do have some things to complement you on, though. The UI is so much cleaner now. And it's easier to install stuff. In fact, I've used this to install so much stuff onto my Newt, that now PCMCIA cards are starting to get corrupted because I'm overloading them (hehe...). This is one of my most favoritistest apps. Thank you!! ! [alert admin]

I love this…

game! It is so hilarious! Every time I enter the game and play it, I find something I didn't see or notice before, but I really do enjoy it. Not bad for $15. I might very well pay for it. The 52- card pickup cracks up me & my boyfriend (because a lot of stupid guys used those quotes as pickup lines to try to get a date back in high school- one guy in particular...lol- not my man, someone else!). But it cracks the both of us up, and we enjoy playing the card games- Best shareware solitaire I've ever played in my life!!!! [alert admin]

NewtSync 0.3k (Mac OS X)

Also, another thing…

to think about- how about an option under syncing the clock, that lets the user SPECIFY which device they want the other device to sync their clocks to- such as, say, a person might have the correct time on their Newton, BUT, say their Mac's PRAM battery went dead and they groggily got on their Mac to sync their Newton (including the time), but forgot to uncheck syncing the clock in the prefs or didn't realize that the death of their PRAM battery sent their computer back into believing that it's 4:31 am on November 26th, 1969, when it's really 6pm on February 26th, 2003. Then, their Newton's time would be jacked up if they sync the time on accident. Just mentioning something to consider. [alert admin]

Newtourage 0.7b1 (Mac OS X)

I don't have…

the 2001 version of Entourage. I do, however, have the X version of Entourage. Bring it to X, and you get my bucks. Until then, I'm sticking with using NewTen for my Newton Package Installer, and NewtSync for my Syncronization utility (both working Natively under X). [alert admin]

NewTen 1.1.0 (Mac OS X)

I have the…

same thing to say as dibenga- I've been using this under Jaguar to install crap onto my old Newton MP 130 using a Keyspan Twin Serial Adapter. I've eventually learned how to install the packages onto my newt, but the same is true here. The app NEEDS a reset or stop function- I find myself having to Force-Quit the app several times because I had a bad sync (at first, the application doesn't respond, so I have to try at least 2 or 3 times at it.) Also, how about PREFERENCES? So it WILL finally remember my last serial driver selection- cu.USA281P2.2? Otherwise, ROCK ON! Thanks for keeping the Newton Pride Alive, especially under OS X! (although I still have to boot into 9 if I wish to backup, use the keyboard to type on the thing, or export stuff off of my Newton through the Newton Connection Utilities.) As I said to the creator/s of NewtSync (another OS X newt app that syncs Newts with your iCal calendars and address books), Keep chugging away. These Newton Apps are really wonderful. [alert admin]

NewtSync 0.3k (Mac OS X)

I just got…

my Keyspan serial adapter today. Of course, I had to do a test-drive with NewtSync, and it worked! I am so happy and pleased with your software. However, it would great if you could somehow implement the options of Apple's Newton Connection Utilities into this App (like, Use keyboard to type stuff in on the Newt, Backup, Restore, import, install package, and ESPECIALLY- EXPORT!!!) otherwise, I'd like to bring this to your attention- please set the system requirements for the newton, to Newton OS 2.X- because IT DOES WORK on Newton OS 2.0 (It did on my Newt!- an old MP 130). Leaving that at Newton OS 2.1 could give people the wrong impression that their older Newton OS 2.0 devices (such as the MP 120 or the MP 130) are not supportted by this app, which, in fact, they actually are. Otherwise, keep on chugging away at this app. It's great. I look forward to it having added features sometime in the future (so I dont have to boot in 9 just to use NCU to export something off my Newt without having it sync the entire thing!) [alert admin]

PocketNotes 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)

UGH... What's this…

"You can no longer edit this notepad... blah blah blah and you cant edit it, it's only read only until we make sure you register" BS nagging? HELLO!??!? I'd much rather use an application that QUIT WORKING the day my trial period ENDED, not something that's gonna tell me that I can't edit my own notes BEFORE my trial period ends!!! Stick to your promises! Same thing about PocketDock- you didn't keep your promise on that one either. But anyways, if you fix the boo-boos and stick to what you're promising (instead of logging in to figure out that I cant even go through my PocketNotes without a constant nag reminder of being "read only"), then maybe I MIGHT just register! Don't rub me the wrong way- I love this app. Just certain things need fixing- the BUGS (so it's more usable), and, of course, that horrid annoying NAG reminder that pops up every time I click on my notepad (I'm not talking about the one when you first open the app- that one nag is ENOUGH!) I understand that you're pushing for an incentive for people to register to buy their copy of PocketNotes. Just don't constantly annoyingly nag them and prod them or they might drop the app in the trash like a box of rocks. I wont. But as for other people... I wouldn't be too sure. [alert admin]

Havent had this…

much fun since before my sister crunched and killed my spirograph toy when I was 6 years old. I loved that thing. Thank you for bringing back all the wonderful memories of spending long hours playing with that thing. I'm enjoying it very much. Next we need something to replace that "night-light-bright-light" thing my sister also killed. :D [alert admin]
