For professionals who are working with Beta tapes this is just an absurd way to lable tape cases. For these who using DV (not DVCAM, rather mini DV) format , the little pretty Videomatica ( http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24738) does the job for free. being absolutely agree with the previous comment's author about workflow assumptions wrongfully made by dvReady developers, I suggest thy (developers) use their creativity somehere else were FileMaker engine let them collect some cash. File Mover 1.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Unfortunately something did hit the fan in the very late moment and whatever is included in the ilemover.zip file is not an executable, application. May be File Mover just move itself to South?... We might never know! [alert admin]

MacCaption 2.1 (Mac OS X)
for those who is intersted. Because there aren't too much of interest from the general public anyway. Production companies - are not individuals, besides, the people who involved in approval of purchases are clercs who are spending not their own money. I the program good? Who c ares!. At this prise i won't even bother trying it anyway. This developers probably are doing fine job, let just not forget: a toilrt seat for Pentagon core between $150 - and $500, depend on whos a** is going to use it. [alert admin]

Livid BEU 1.0 (Mac OS X)
However, feature-wise, it is unfare to compare this little one with Cleaner, or Compressor. This application designed I guess, not as an alternative, but like an free solution in simple cases for people who even don't have a "pro" version of QT. And as such - it's good. To "unify your library", as ReadMe comments,- what for? "Upsampling"- to what extend?... ReadMe comments file -s weakest part of this, mostly because it diesn't clarify that this Batch Export Utility basicaly consist of employing QT conversion interface in batches. It adds minimalist's interface. All process even slower than if it was done using QT Pro 'Save As" mechanism. Flexability and fine tqeaking lovers - use Cleaner and Compressor. But - again- this app worth every penny you spent on it! [alert admin]

DH_WhipPan 1.0 (Mac OS X)
... nice guys designet it didn't make a clear distinction between whiping and stratching. As a result we have here a quite bold cros-strech transition, which isn't bad by itself, exept without smoothing in- and out-points it looks pretty ugly. But I like the prise, that's why they have a star from me. I would be even willing to pay twice that price if they actually can simulate a whip pan of some sort. [alert admin]

Fast DVD Copy 2.0 (Mac OS X)
called Fast DVD Copy. Of all these words used in the software's name only "DVD" related to the product. I was trying to find out, wheather it works, or- as usual. Downloaded Trial version (one burn). First DVD I tried was in the "optimiziing" mode for over 2 days. I tried to reach tech support. Instead, I received $20-off cupon. Nice. I aborted optimization and ( still having I burn available! ) started another task, where optimization wasn't suppos to be an issue ( size was less than 4 GB). It crashed. I sent report to tech support. Restarted. Aborted after 790 minutes of optimization. What I am waiting now is, probably, another cupon. I am afraid, they have to pay me for using this dumpware. One star - for cupon .:) [alert admin]

FastCut 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
...I tried it for 15 minutes. Than I visited timesforfun Web site, and realized, since the author himself confested that the software writing isn't his prime ocupation ("I'm writing Macintosh software in my spare time") and because he obviously doesn't have enough time to spare, the very fact that FastCut starts is an achivement and it is a miracle, too. Now, the program itself... Well, to be palite and not to use any of stronger words, it is awful, helpless and immature, yet pretentious. I would strongly recommend Mr. Jakob Weick do gardening in his spare time. And keep the harvest for internal use. [alert admin]

SoundConverter 20040306 (Mac OS X)
... downloaded, installed, dropped a file, get a lisence purchase request, dropped a smaller file, - had several "sorry-blah-blah-unavailable" screens, than finaly sucsess in converting. Looks like App works just fine. Would by. Will not. Why? 1.Can't check quality on less-then-second-long file. 2. Dont like being tighten to the machine. 3. Don't like when promped for a lisence purchase and than - with the same file type ! -refused to convert as unavailable. Just doesn't smell well, don't you think? [alert admin]

Snapz Pro X 2.0.0 (Mac OS X)
Yep. That's how it works: they start version number with the new digit, than they try to milk you again, and like try to sell you something else, like "...TechSmith's EnSharpen video codec is a perfect companion to Snapz Pro X for screen recordings, producing highly compressed, lossless quality QuickTime movies." Does the new version do anything new? Nope! So, go ahed, pay, get upgrade, have fun! Enjoy! [alert admin]
