BurnAware Free Edition 1.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I like this program because it's very basic and free..i'm fairly good understanding software and programs at 38 but my dad has problems with some other burning programs like Roxio which tends IMO to be bloated a bit much. Again this is very basic, but the program gives a main menu of 5 options. The one i used was to burn a data disc. so this is the part i will review. It opened out with four menu options on top. Disc - Edit - Recorder - Help Disc info is very generic will tell u that it is a CD-R and available space allows for multi-session, eject on finish, verify or not verify. You can not save your listing that you burn...which would be a nice added feature here. You can drop and drag files from your folders to the program window or use the button to add files/folder via the windows file interface. You can chose your recorder, if u have multiple recorders. it had no problem recognizing the 2 on my dad's computer. You can elect to erase a CD-RW via menu. The eject is via the menu, there is no button which might be nice. The program burned nicely with no coasters produced. The data was able to be read. The data was photos. The speed was fairly quick IMO. For a free program i feel that it is very good. I am pleased with it. and i think my dad may end up using more than Roxio's Easy media Creator at least for certain things. There isn't much documentation, but most CD burning should be intuitive and this one is. features seem pretty good, obviously i haven't burned any video, so not sure how that section is. and so far it's been very very stable. well built program. and lastly for the price of Free it's great! DiscLabel 4.1.2 (Mac OS X)
Well, I tried the Disclabel 4.1.2 and the lightscribe part is a little different, but usable. It worked, although it's a little strange, rather than a burn button, it's a click print button and then the program finds the burner and burns the lightscribe DVD or CD. Rather cool except for the Demo burned onto the DVD I have. Considering purchasing it. Lots of templates and help menu is good so far. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 8.0 (Mac OS X)
So who's got a blue-ray disc burner
Although it's nice, not sure if an upgrade is needed yet for me until I have a blue-ray disc burner which I'm guessing costs more than this software. Then I'd still have to buy a HD-DVD or Blue-ray Disc player...... I'm really happy with Toast 7. Probably wait until the format war is done and over with. any support for HD-DVD or is that going to be in Toast 9???? [alert admin]

Music Muncher iTunes Game 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I had the some problem as the above. I would avoid the monster but after eating a bunch of notes would die. I have a 1.4 Ghz G4(GigaDesigns Processor Upgrade). Hopefully the developer fixes this problem. [alert admin]

iEye Captain 0.8.2.5.beta (Mac OS X)
I have asked EyeTV this before and I was hoping that this might do what I want. Maybe I missed it, but under device settings in EyeTV you can set the Quality to High, Standard, Long-playing, etc. I was hoping that This program might be able to get around EyeTV for that, only because there are certain programs I record in High and others I really don't need to record at a high quality. Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.3.0.4 (Mac OS X)
Upgraded to 2.3.0.5 and also Apple's Security update was recent as well. Azureus Sharemanager states that the 'Tracker must be configured'. I never had to do this before.... So right now it's not working. Any help would be appreciated. [alert admin]

InterActual Player 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)
It doesn't seem to authenticate the Notebook DVD correctly. So right now it seems like a duplication of Apple's DVD player. Until they fix the player to access the DVD's web site, I won't use it. [alert admin]

Missing Sync for Palm OS 4.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I have used this with my Palm m500 and it works wonderfully! It syncs most everything. Avantgo conduit is now out with 4.0.3. I've used 4.0.2 with mouseworks and Norton Antivirus with no problems. I generally only sync the typical applications. However, it is lacking with ePocrates. If it could do that, I would like that. [alert admin]

SolarQuest 1.0 (Mac OS X)
It's an interesting game. Fun in an avoid the barriers way and collect coins. I got through 4 levels, but the only things I saw as far as bonuses were 1000 points and an extra ship token. Probably additional power-ups would be nice. Although, I would almost prefer at least the ability to shoot and destroy the barriers in the way. Hopefully if the developer keeps working on it, it will improve. The Graphics are Excellent. In later stages, it would interesting if the Gravity was changed, say, the ship went to a different planet and the gravity would be much stronger. [alert admin]

Gotta make a correction. There are 4 options not 5. The last two are make an ISO disc which is basically burning a disc image and Video-DVD which burns a Video-TS folder...so i guess your video has be in that form to be burnt. So for DV avi's, I guess they would have to be transformed using another program into a Video Disc Format.

Netflix's queue now has drag and drop... ![]()

The application is still much faster. In addition, finding movies to rent..*used* to be a breeze in NetFlix. (as of 2.6.1 12/13/07, this feature seems to be broken, not sure if netflix changed their protocol, but that's my guess). I feel it's much fatser than my browser considering the size of my list at times.

Last I knew, you had to pay for the POP service at Hotmail. so as long as you have a paid account you can access the hotmail account with HTTPMail. If you don't have a paid account, you won't be able to get your e-mail via HTTPMail. Anybody clarify this? Did things change?

This Plug-in only works if you have a PAID account. It's been this way for a while.

Most likely you're downloading "dummy" files that the RIAA put on the peer to fool you. They've done that to confuse people that download songs for free so that frustrates you.

I too had this problem. I'm running on a G4 1.4 MHz Sawtooth. It used to not connect with the EyeTV200, but they had some firmware updates, so I'd check that. Also, I used to daisy chain it with a Firewire CD burner which I've since stopped using and the problems seemed to have gotten better. It's rare that a don't have a connection now.

Probably because it's a beta still. When it's released in it's final form it won't have a letter after the version number. There are probably still some small minor bugs in the software. Hopefully not too many considering the number of users.

Tivo has recording capabilities that can adjust based on the program. (ie if the football game goes into overtime, it will continue recording all of the program, or if you like shows with richard gere it will record all the shows with richard gere for you the way you set it up. EyeTV is nifty for me for recording to computer and archiving. you can remotely schedule a program via the web. There is no…
