DiskWarrior 4.1 (Mac OS X)

Startup time is reduced radically

I had this problem with my new Imac Intel of a long startup time. Perhaps it was related to tweaking the system with Mac Pilot 3, but I am not sure. The machine was starting normally, but then for many minutes I had a blue screen only and then the desktop appeared. I used DiskWarrior with the new cd for Leopard I had made and now the startup time is normal, like it was before the problems started. I really like this program which is way ahead of Disk Utility to solve problems like that. [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5600.0 (Mac OS X)

version 5600 totally crashed my computer

after installing version 5600 over the older version, my machine totally crashed. I had to restart using the on-off button. after I was able to restart, I tried again to start the product and it does not work. Why the hell I installed that I do not know? My previous version was working fine. I should have waited like I often do [alert admin]

FAXstf Pro 10.9 (Mac OS X)

Not as bad as I taught from the reviews

I have been using PageSender on 10.4 and 10.3 for a while. The product had the annoying problem of stopping the shutdown process, by refusing to quit. It was a PITA every time to force quit the program to be able to shutdown the machine. Since I got a new Mac Intel with 10.5, I decided to try FAXstf Pro since the cost was only 20$ when updating. I found that I had bought the product a few years ago and I was able to upgrade after a few tries. Well I have been able to send and receive faxes without any problems after rapidly looking at the documentation. I even installed the Widgets but I have not tried them. I will reserve the right to update this report if something does not work. [alert admin]

File Synchronization 1.4.3 (Mac OS X)

very good for this very low price

The product is not perfect but it costs only 15$. I have used Folder Match on PC and Folder Compare under OS9 which offers more flexibility. However, the program works very well. It lacks the possibility sometimes to exclude a file that you want for example on a machine and not on the other for reasons of space for example. But, as I said for this very low price, the product offers a lot and I highly recommend it. Also, the author speaks French too for those who needs some technical informations. [alert admin]

Microsoft Messenger 6.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Not that bad ! Office is a great product.

I do not like Microsoft and dislike Bill Gates even more. However, honestly without both of them, I would be on a PC now. I have to exchange files frequently with clients and with Office, it is a snap with Office X. Clients do not even know I am on Office Mac. I have a PC too with Office 2000 and an older G3 with Office 2001. I can synchronize the files between the three machines without any problems. Entourage can even communicate with Outlook PC. What more can you ask? About Messenger, I use this product only to go the Sympatico server to know if I have any messages. then it will proceed to open my browser and bring me to the Sympatico server. So I have not chatted or anything. [alert admin]

DVDRemaster 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Version 3.0 is very good

I have been using the previous versions of the products for a while now. I upgraded to version 3 and have tried it and I like the new interface a lot. also, I like the fact that it is clearly indicated that 4450 MB is the recommanded size. If you make any change to this value, it is good to be able to come back to the recommended size. As I said in a previous posting, the product is way ahead of Popcorn, except if you do not need compression. Then Popcorn is faster doing everything in one step instead of two with MTR (preparing the data and then burning it with Toast or something else). I like being able to remove useless language, dir comments and other stuff I do not need to make the image smaller. Anyway, I highly recommend the product. [alert admin]

DVDRemaster 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Possible to upgrade PRO for 9.95$.

I had no problems upgrading from 2.6 to 3.0 for a mere 9.95$ US. the new serial is shorter then the previous one. the new interface is pretty clean. There is now an info on the opening screen that 4450 MB is the optimal size. this can be useful if you modify the desired size of the finished DVD. I have used version 2.6 for many months now and I am impressed. Popcorn 1 is far behind except for creating DVD which do not need compression. Take a few minutes to read the documentation, as this could save you some time. [alert admin]

Delicious Library 1.6.2 (Mac OS X)

Pretty impressed by the product

I have tried the product after reading reviews about it and I am pretty impressed by it, having an Isight camera. I can scan the bar codes of the product and I get the description of the products, like books, CD, DVD. what is the most impressive is that I have stuff from France, Canada and USA and it works! I just switch the country in the preferences and do the search. I have written to the author a few times about some improvements and he answers rapidly. [alert admin]

I was able to download the product directly at the Micromat site after registering. there was however a delay; but after one minute, the download started on Firefox. [alert admin]

Cocktail 3.5.2 (Mac OS X)

3.5 seems to be fine finally after restrating

After installing 3.5, I had problems repairing permissions, like I posted in another message. however, after restarting, all seems to be fine. I had to give my serial number again so the program will keep it in the keychain. BTW there is a program from Apple to repair the keychain and often it finds problems. This message is for those having keychain problems after upgrading to version 3.5 [alert admin]

Worst customer service imaginable

I totally agree. I wrote many times to them because the last PRO version I bought does not work anymore on my Imac. Since the standard version did not work, I taught stupidly that the PRO version would work. So I gave them money and it did not work. I never received an answer from them. DO NOT BUY THE PRO VERSION

Man, Do I Miss Global Village

I agree 200% with this comment. Global Village Fax was the greatest fax program ever on the Mac. PageSender is trying but not coming close. I have been using PageSender for a while and the support team is great. Recently they helped me fix an issue with Norton, because PageSender kept opening a random port. They told me how of to use the terminal so it is always the same port which is opened. There is…

I Should Press Charges

there is an UNINSTALLER which worked fine under 10.3. I asked a refund after buying NIS3. It was the same stuff I already had. when I wanted to upgrade Norton Antivirus 9 to 10, I saw the upgrade to NIS3 and taught it would have features I did not have in my actual NIS3. comparing the two images it was the same stuff. IMPORTANT NIS3 actually works under 10.4 but NOT INTEL. You have to remove the Norton Privacy Module;…

My one gripe!

The guy do not want the CIA to bang at his door! If he charges money, he can be sued big time. Being a freeware, it is less obvious, even if there is a risk! A great guy!!!

End user and not the app

I cannot agree more! RTFM is often the solution. Often people destroy FREE applications instead of trying to understand them fully. good comment
