ML Baseball Widget 1.3 (Mac OS X)
All the info I from MLB in a nice, compact form. No need to wander over to mlb.com to check the front page anymore. [alert admin]

Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.5.3 (Mac OS X)
After installing and moving the unzipped installer folder to the trash, the trash cannot be emptied, because the "the item Install NUDC-M 4.5.3 is still in use." This is a pain. [alert admin]

Shared Space 2.0b3 (Mac OS X)
This looks like it could be incredibly worthwhile, but it is chewing up all my CPU cycles, or at least 55% of one of the 800 G4s on my dual 800. Typing lags really badly, as does moving objects in the workspace. If it speeds up, I could see using it to improve course development. A feature request: It would be really slick if an object could belong to multiple groups at once. [alert admin]

Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.5.1 (Mac OS X)
Though PowerOn claims that the memory leak associated with having QuickDay and QuickContact in the menu bar is fixed, I believe they are mistaken. After one night, here is the memory usage for the SystemUIServer:
PID COMMAND %CPU TIME #TH #PRTS #MREGS RPRVT RSHRD RSIZE VSIZE 7952 SystemUISe 0.0% 1:31.69 3 142 702 115M 9.51M 124M 193MThis process typically uses a couple of MB, not 115MB.
At least both applications launch more quickly.

PHP iCalendar 0.9.5 (Mac OS X)
Good for sharing course calendars... ![]()

Works nicely. I can keep all the info for the course I teach in iCal, and share the calendar so that students know what happened when, and what is due in the future. Let's me avoid the awful Blackboard.com mess. [alert admin]

Mandel Bot 1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
First Mandelbrot set viewer I've looked at since 1989... it sure makes it clear just how much faster computers are. Runs nicely. [alert admin]
