launch2net 1.6.29 (Mac OS X)
Works extremely well and is extremely expensive ![]()

This is an impressive app. Run it, it sets everything up and click on connect and that's it. The only drawback, and it's a big one, is that it is eye-wateringly expensive (€75). It costs more than iLife '08. Something is seriously wrong there and it's a great shame. [alert admin]

GarageBuy 1.4.2 (Mac OS X)
The only real reason to use a third party tool for eBay (unless you are some sort of eBay pro) is to enable sniping. Garage Buy looks good, but since it doesn't permit sniping it is pretty useless. [alert admin]

Great on Tiger but useless on Leopard ![]()

This is a great product on Tiger and does exactly what I need (plus a lot more) but it doesn't seem to work at all on Leopard. It either does nothing at all, or if I try to record it crashes. I haven't had any problems on Tiger though. This is only the second app I have used on Leopard that has failed to work, which is a shame. This app is important enough to stop me upgrading to Leopard so please fix it. [alert admin]

Play 0.1.2 (Mac OS X)
I wanted a player that would play ogg, APE and FLAC files and this easy to use program does just that. I didn't find the replay gain feature worked perfectly though. I have some low volume FLAC files and they were just as low volume using Play as they were using Amarok (on my Ubuntu Linux box). I shall definitely keep using Play. [alert admin]

This sucks beyond description. Now I cannot open any office program. I try to start one and it goes to the "customer improvement programme" window then to update and that's it. Word/Excel etc never start. I cannot believe even MS would screw something up this badly - idiots.

You are wrong, VueScan does the same to me and I certainly know how to maintain my system. I agree the comment is over the top and I do think VueScan is good, but it is a pain in the arse having to re-enter the serial every time I use it. At least in my case I wrote it down but it really shouldn't do this.

I thought this too but I have just upgraded to 1.8 and it really is much quicker. It's still going to take a long time to open a very big group but it must be running 5 times as fast on my MBP as version 1.7.9.

I have to agree with this. Unison looks great and does the simple things fine but it doesn't cope well with large number of headers and AFAICT doesn't have any ability to d/l headers by date (or any other criteria). Opening a new group with 15m messages will take a very long time and I just have to hope that the files posted yesterday appear at some indeterminate time in the future. Searching, grouping…

I have discovered that the Aiptek 12000U is exactly the same and they have a Mac OS X driver which works perfectly with my Trust 1200 tablet. I haven't tried the mouse as I don't use this but the pen works exactly as it should.
