Unicode Font Info 1.5 (Mac OS X)
a lot of overlap with the character palette, though this is intended to be more font oriented, and will be developing into a solutin for printing typebooks and looking at fonts that aren't installed. I'm afraid I don't understand your comments about font size... if you choose a single character and set the grid size (bottom left corner) to 1x1 or 2x2 then the characters in the grid will be over 100pts ... several inches long! the whole company be shut down if the CEO is misbehaving? They'd have to be doing dodgy accouting or something like that. [alert admin]

UI is interesting (though Mozilla has had the "Revolutionary new Bookmarks filing scheme" for around a year now. But as a render it sucks. The speed is great, but I'm seeing multiple pages where stylesheets are ignored, visual errors and error message dialogs. Some of this will be fixed by 1.0 but its got a long way to go to catch up with Chimera/Gecko as a renderer. Speed is nice, but Chimera is plenty fast enough. Pleasant, but far from something I'd switch to. So far. [alert admin]

Apple X11 0.1 (Mac OS X)
I previously had X11 installed as the XDarwin release that comes with fink. In order to get this fully working, I had to remove/rename the file .xinitrc from my home directory, as it was overriding Apple's window manager and replacing it with twm. [alert admin]

you can stand the (horrible) interface the "Linux program" GIMP is often said to be comparable to photoshop 3. It certainly does a lot more than GC, but a lot less than modern Photoshop. Of course, installing and running it can be a pain if you haven't already got X11 and fink setup. Depends what you're into... [alert admin]

allowing different numbers of characters per page 'scaling' - there's a couple of tricky issues, but its probably doable. I'm curious what you mean by "Font Drag-and Drop" - do you want to be able to drag a font from the Finder onto the window and have it be displayed, or something else? [alert admin]

out - this page should be updated soon. HopefullyaAddresses many of the comments on this page, please take a look. A few people have reported spinning disks on startup but there's no common theme tying them all together yet. Hopefully this new build will solve those. [alert admin]

it - the composer and email components don't load until you open them. So just don't open them. Are you really so short of disk space or are you just being obstinate? [alert admin]

2 reasons I gave were for why I believe the character counts may be wrong on many of the fonts. I have no idea what's up with Windings, thats probably something completely different :) [alert admin]
