Works as advertised, and you can't beat the price, but I got the "bad filename" error that someone else mentioned. Looking at the offending files, the problem seems to be that expod will not copy any files that have a colon (:) in their filenames. It handles other odd characters and accents, but not colons. Expod warns you of this problem with a pop-up, but allows only "continue" and "quit" alternatives, no way to temporarily change the filename, e.g., to allow it to copy. So back to the terminal to get that handful of rejected files. I'm using OSX10.5.6 and an original iPod. [alert admin]

Graph Sketcher 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)
It's limited in it's capabilities, but what it does it does well. Easy to learn, nice interface, even does linear curve fitting. Also exports to PDF and JPG nicely. It isn't for sophisticated plotting, but for simple stuff it's great. [alert admin]

SeeGEDCOMX 0.8b2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I've used it to create a genealogy and to insert other GEDCOM files into mine. It's pretty easy to use and has a straighforward, simple interface. I've tried all the other GEDCOM apps on VersionTracker - some of which promise lots of snazzy features that never seem to be quite what I want - and I keep coming back to SeeGEDCOMX. It's not perfect: it's crashed twice without obvious cause (it is a beta); I've had a minor problem when merging two files: a couple parent-child relationships somehow come out "one-way" (e.g. child shows up on parent bio but not vice-versa; maybe due to slightly different versions of the standard?) and have had to fix by hand. Otherwise a solid app. [alert admin]
