it is an addictively fun game, and paying the shareware fee to unlock the full features is worth it. there are some annoying quirks though, which are compounded by the lack of documentation and also the difficulty in registering for the discussion forum (i tried several times but was not able to register). it is occasionally infuriating when the game behaves in a way that is blatantly "unfair"--which is fairly often and seemingly always to the computer's advantage (i have only played against the computer, not online). but i still keep playing anyway. Possibly Broke MATLAB (R13) (yes)
i can confirm this--several other users have reported the problem on various fora, always with R13 of matlab (R14 seems fine). i believe it has to do with some upgrade to the java virtual machine implementation in os x. if i start up matlab from the command line using the -nojvm flag, it starts up and works fine, except i can't use the desktop, editor, or get graphic output, just the command line. i'm trying to…
