Adobe Flash Player 10.0.0.525 (Mac OS X)

Works Great

When I say I have used the product for 1 - 6 months, I am including Beta 1 in that statement. I downloaded and installed Flash 10 Beta 2 this morning to replace Beta 1. They both worked great for me, but Beta 2 seems a little faster, especially in Flash based games. However, both versions are substantially faster than Flash 9. I can't comment on CNN as I don't ever go there as they do not support OmniWeb. But videos on YouTUBE and FoxNEWS play beautiful, even in full-screen mode. Just my 2¢ [alert admin]

Cocktail 4.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Freezing?

The freezing when clearing cache files occurred in 10.5.3 and has been promptly fixed with this latest version of *censored*tail. It works great, as always. Highly recommended. [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.7 (Mac OS X)

WOW!!! 5.7 ROCKS!!!

Personally, I find this version to be awesome! Stable, fast and works perfectly on all sites I go to, including banking, financial, Flash game sites, CNN, FoxNEWS, WND, YouTube, GodTube, etc. I always go back and try Safari, Camino and FireFox just to be sure. But I always end up back with using OmniWeb as my main Browser. It just works flawlessly. No crashes, no freezes, and YES it's FAST with a capital "F". Occasionally with Safari and Camino, I will get a freeze or another fatal error. But not with this puppy! It just works while providing features that are both unique, and easy to use. Back when I bought it, it was like $25-$30. Now it's only like $15. Even at the original old price, it is well worth it. Also, it's the only Browser I know of where I can easily set "site specific" preferences. And no, I am not affiliated with them in any way, nor do I own any stock in them. Try it, I think you'll like it! John [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.7 Beta 2 (Mac OS X)

Love it!!!

I have been using OmniWeb since the early 5 days. I have had very few problems it over the years. But this version, 5.7 beta 2 ROCKS!!! It is easily as fast as Safari 3.1, and hasn't crashed once. The ability to set site specific preferences is awesome. Unlike Safari or Opera, this pup works fine on any site I visit. Flash games seem to play faster than on any other Browser I have tried. This is well worth the small fee ($13) that Omni charges. Ah yes, their tech support is responsive and very helpful. When you send them feedback via the "Help" menu, your email to them includes your registration info and some machine specific details to better allow them to address your problem. When I've sent them feedback, I've never waited longer than 8 hours to hear from them, usually, much less, like 1 or 2 hours. I think ya'll know that that level of support just doesn't exist with Safari, FireFox or Opera. That alone is worth the paltry $13 cost. If this were not a comment, but a review, I would rate it 5 stars. [alert admin]

hp12c Classic Financial Calculator 4.1 (Mac OS X)

Can't update to latest version

I paid for the PPC version of this over a year ago and have used it constantly. It is great. But it requires Rosetta and I can't upgrade to the Intel version as my PPC serial number won't work. I saw on one of the RLM links that I could get a new serial for free. After 4 emails to this guy over several months, he has never bothered to reply. [alert admin]

Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0rc1 (Mac OS X)

Can't Import

I downloaded this only to find that it still can't import my Apple Mail or Entourage settings and accounts. Since I have 5 different email accounts, I'm not about to manually enter them and then find out I don't like the program. John [alert admin]

Opera 9.2 (Mac OS X)

Can't use Opera

Part of my job requires me to use "my.superpages.com" to manage web-hosted email accounts. Superpages will not allow me to log in with Opera as the message I get says the browser I am using is not supported. They suggest either IE or Firefox. I still that OmniWEB is the overall best of the bunch and it does work with Superpages even though it isn't listed as supported. [alert admin]

TechTool Pro 4.5.1 (Mac OS X)

TT is terrible

I have had this product now since the Drive10 days. It is the only product that I have used that actually trashes my HD's. I had such bad luck with it in its early days that I stopped using it for quite some time. I recently reinstalled it and got the latest version. I attempted to define their boot partition and the program said all was well. Guess what? I couldn't reboot. My internal HD was trashed once again. Fortunately I had a SuperDuper backup on a FireWire external drive. I had to repartition my internal drive and restore it with SuperDuper (an excellent product by the way). I will stick with DiskWarrior which IMHO is awesome! [alert admin]

Vault 1.2 (Mac OS X)

WHY?

What am I missing here? I use encrypted DMG’s for my sensitive data. Why would I want Vault? Not being contrary, just asking. [alert admin]

Why

I pay no attention to such rude and ignorant rants. And obviously no one else found your comments helpful.

Good browser overall, but lacks a couple things...

I don't know about the programs you mentioned, but OW does a "far" better job of ad-blocking than its counterparts. Maybe some plug-ins do better, but as for "native" ad-blocking capabilities, OW 5.6 and now, 5.7 - is really good! John

I haven't had problems with OmniWeb

I have been using OmniWeb since 5.4. I have always found it way-ahead of the competition, but rather slow, even in 5.6. But this version, 5.7b2 is blazing fast. As fast as Safari 3.1, but with tons more useful features. And it works with every site I visit. No crashes, no spinning pizza ball: It just works, fast and reliably. I just love its "site-specific" preferences, among other things. As far as tech support…

Great features if it works and if developers are attentive - which is rarely

I have used this product for many years now, and have never had a problem with it. It does what it says it does, and very good I might add. I have had a couple of questions for the developer, and always received a quick and helpful reply. This is a top-notch program, with very helpful support. But, when the boys are out in the Alaskan wilderness, expect a slight delay of responses. Also, check…

Parallels is horrible! Avoid this product & use Boot Camp instead!

Paralles is a wonderful product and their tech support is great. A few days after I registered it I got a phone call from them asking how I liked it and if I had any concerns or suggestions. I called for tech support on a coherence issue and had my answer in less than 5 minutes. For the record, I am using an Epson R200 USB printer with no problems whatsoever in XP. XP runs very fast…
