Letter Opener 3.0.3 (Mac OS X)

30.00??

I know people do these things to make a buck but 30 of them for a plug-in? I don't think so. I'd rather email them back and tell them to dump their PCs or send it back to me in a different format. [alert admin]

iClock Pro 1.0b11 (Mac OS X)

Pitiful lack of support

I downloaded this beta version when I got the email about the discount for registered users. The website did not give me the discount. When I got the app loaded I waited...and waited....and waited and am still waiting for the supposedly "automatic" send of the new registration number. I have emailed the developer several times for help and have not received a reply yet. I'm afraid this is another case of a developer that believes his own press releases and unless you write to fawn all over him about his wonderful software he doesn't want to hear it. I've been around long enough to see several of this kind of developer and invariably their software eventually becomes big trouble and they disappear from the scene. They are so in love with their own software that they don't want to hear anything negative. I'd stick with the Apple menu clock. The extras ain't worth the trouble. [alert admin]

Flock 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)

An indication of quality...

I just went to my copy of Flock to see if I would get a notice of new software available - none. I went to the pulldown menu and clicked on "check on updates" and got a message that there are no new updates available. How can you claim to have something viable when you can't even detect your own software updates? [alert admin]

Spark 3.0b7 (Mac OS X)

Thank You

Thanks for getting me free of Quickeys. Spark is much quicker and SO much easier to use than QK. [alert admin]

gSync 1.4.0 (Mac OS X)

Save your time

I agree with the comment by Bachelor (below). I have tried several ways, including the canned, inaccurate advice from the developers. I have yet for it to reliably update my google calendar from my iCal calendar. [alert admin]

MenuCalendarClock for iCal 3.1 (Mac OS X)

Thanks for comments

I've just decided not to even open it. I'm just trashing it before I have one of these negative feedbacks to contribute. [alert admin]

StuffIt Expander 12.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Thanks

for the URL to skip the maze. I hate that marketing crap and their cheap little tricks. RealPlayer is another one. I'm thankful for Quicktime so I don't have to use those scuzzballs junk anymore. [alert admin]

SyncTwoFolders 1.1.7 (Mac OS X)

Batch mode

This product would be next to perfect for me if the developers would enable a "batch mode" that would allow one click to update more than one folder at a time. [alert admin]

iCalViewer 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Collapse the window

The author could do a favor for desktops worldwide and convince me to spring for this app if they would make the window expand and collapse to fit the items that are being displayed. The last thing I need is a bunch of gronky black space taking up room on my desktop. [alert admin]

NetNewsWire 3.1b18 (Mac OS X)

No to NNW

NNW was for several years my only RSS reader. There was no reason to use any other. With the new incarnation however, their gold status has been tarnished. There has been a persistent bug of every few minutes a window will appear with several of my folders in it and the warning that unless I elect to save these folders they will disappear from my subscriptions. WHAT? Where in cyberspace did this come from? I was hoping this new release would do something about it but it did not. NNW, you blew it. I have now gone to Vienna and see no reason to go back. Sibelius Support

Yours is a sad story, indeed. However, can you imagine every user that has run over the time for phone support calling in and crying about how this is the first time they've booted the new software - really (just disregard the fact that it's been two years since I bought it)? But then, the world is all about you, isn't it?

It's so easy!

It sounds as though this person is using entirely different software than the folks above. Is this an Apple plant?

Skip This Version!

If something this basic was oversighted, it doesn't give you warm fuzzies about the rest of the software, does it?

Treats customers poorly

I have to second this comment. The developer definitely needs to work on their attitude. Kicking the customers in the balls is hardly the way to win friends and influence people.
