Searchlight 2.0 (Mac OS X)

I'm amazed at the price of this app - for a third of the price you can buy FarFinder which gives you Spotlight searching, plus you get to browse your Mac just like you would in the Finder. It's also very Mac like so that's no excuse. Can't quite work this out! Is this a marketing exercise? [alert admin]

Oops I meant "Searchlight" in my review. I accidentally called it Spotlight because that's all it does for $100. (FarFinder has Spotlight built in) [alert admin]

FarFinder 1.2.6 (Mac OS X)

Love it - works great for me

A great app that has saved my hide a few times already. Easy to install and set up so you don't have to be a network guru like you do with some sharing apps. Didn't work correctly at first because of a bad release, but the developer was very helpful and honest about that (see his blog) and it's been running like a dream on my iMac ever since. Like another poster I'm surprised there aren't more reviews here for FarFinder. It's better than any competing apps I've found. You pay 3 times as much for Spotlight and that doesn't even let you browse your files! Pity a few people like the ones below seem to have been put off by one bad release - they're missing out. Recommended! [alert admin]
