WeatherDock 2.4.7 (Mac OS X)
Will not update automatically as often as before
Hey, this issue is strange, but WeatherDock has been updating current displayed weather increasingly less frequently over the past two weeks, and now I have to update current displayed weather manually by going to Refresh Weather in the pull-down menu from the menubar icon of WeatherDock. I thought that updating from 2.4.6 would fix this problem. I do not bust people's chops about the program updating every minute... but updates of current displayed weather should be occurring more frequently than once an hour, and in fact, they were, up until a few weeks ago. This program otherwise updated current displayed weather appropriately until then, and then automatic updates seemed to fade away, and I would always have to update it manually. Is this normal? iMac G5 Mac OS X 10.5.2 1.25 GB RAM 80 GB Hard Drive WeatherDock automatically starts up upon logging into my iMac [alert admin]

Butler 4.1.3 Transient (Mac OS X)
I see Volume Up, Volume Down, but there's no mute key to program for my function keys! I just got an aluminum keyboad and absolutely need to have the mute key over here on the right side of the keyboard. I tried getting used to having the mute in the middle of the keyboard when I used a MacAlly iMediaCrackableKey keyboard, and I went insane. Need to put the mute in for F18! [alert admin]

TransparentDock 2.3.9 (Mac OS X)
The dock backup could not be made
The dock backup could not be made... an error of type 1 occurred. Would you like to continue without the backup? Press "Continue" to continue, or "Cancel" to manually backup your current "Dock.app". This didn't happen with the other versions. It's annoying to get this error every time I start up TransparentDock and change the Dock layout. Using 10.4.8. [alert admin]

Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.4.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Seems like Azureus is discarding 70% of my downloaded content
The past couple of files that I've downloaded... one's about 270MB, the other 780MB, both on 26.4K dial-up (I know... but hear me out here), I've pulled several overnighters on them such that I can get 80MB downloaded at a time per overnighter. All right, so, the main window says 391MB downloaded out of 789MB, but it keeps saying when I double click on the file name that 37.73MB of the content was discarded, I have 698MB to go, and the whole download is 11.5% complete. Would somebody tell me why so much of my files are being thrown out, right, for no reason, if they've already been downloaded in part to my computer? And don't recommend that I get the file elsewhere, because I want my question answered. [alert admin]

InVisibles 1.4.3 (Mac OS X)
IT DOES NOT WORK WITH TIGER 10.4.7
I double clicked on the application, and it almost shows up on the Dock, as the Dock begins to expand, then collapses back to its original size. [alert admin]

acqlite 0.2.9 (Mac OS X)
IT DOES NOT WORK WITH TIGER 10.4.7
I just downloaded Acqlite and tried to open the software. It began to show up in the Dock, but immediately after double-clicking, the Dock very slowly resized itself back to its original size. The Acqlite icon never appeared, and the application could not be opened. In the package, it says 10.2.8 or higher, and I'm running 10.4.7 on an iMac G5. What's going on?! [alert admin]

Cyberduck 2.6 (Mac OS X)
My problem isn't with connecting. I connect to my server (SFTP) all of the time, no problem. But it's with uploading multiple files at once. It won't do it correctly, and I get errors when I keep trying. I just tried to upload two standard HTML documents with some PHP, one of them 8.3KB, another a small 266B, both placed in folders inside a folder. The bigger file uploaded, but the other file uploaded as an empty file and had its permissions changed on me so that I had to delete it manually before overwriting it. Forget this version. Too many problems. [alert admin]

iSquint 1.4.3 (Mac OS X)
I can't convert a 703 x 398 AVI video to anything larger than a 320 x --- file, because: [1] the program wants integer ratios, and [2] nothing bigger than 320 seems to be allowed. And, no, Quicktime doesn't play the AVI correctly. I'll stick with MPlayer and VLC for such larger files. [alert admin]

ThemePark 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)
How am I supposed to edit the PICT resources of iTunes if every time I try to paste a new image over the image resource, this program crashes?? It crashes five times in a row. I had no problem editing nearly all resources of iTunes and other programs with 2.x, but I can't do anything useful with this version! [alert admin]

What Does VersionTracker Have Against Roosters?
Alternatively, you can spell it as "cocktail" by using empty HTML boldfaced tags between letters.

I have no idea what the shit you're talking about. LOL yes, VersionTracker does not appreciate use of the rooster word to refer to the application client name.

And just my luck - 2.5 comes out the same day
Just my luck... Seems as if 2.5 fixes the automatic updating issue, but it would be helpful to know if others are getting better luck with the 2.5 update.

I have no idea how to use Applescript, and if my only option is to use Hot Keys until the feature is added to Butler, then I'll just stick with the current position of the mute key on my keyboard.

I haven't found a better free program out there. Bittorrent sucks, Limewire quit finding the network on me for a year, Poisoned gets too few results, and mldonkey, yeah, best of luck! What's left are these freeware-not programs such as acqlite that are about as (in)effective as the parent programs that have been tested thoroughly. If it doesn't rank up there as #1, then it's in the top 25% of P2 clients, and most of…

Can't you just host the file on http://content-type.com/ temporarily until your site is fully operational again? When I go to the above Download link on the VersionTracker, I get the error: "Your search "mainmenu xmgfree mainmenu155 dmg" did not return any results."

DownloadThemAll is not a stand-alone application. It is an extension for Firefox. A file that has ".xpi" at the end of it is an extension for Firefox, Thunderbird, or Mozilla. <a href="http://wiki.mozilla.org/Installing_Extensions">Installing extensions</a> You now just need to complete steps 3 to 5.

Get a spell-checker extension and shut up
Regarding people such as you, people in the Firefox community have to keep providing links to extensions so that you quit complaining. Because there are plenty of bad spellers in the world (12-year-old AOLers, for instance), what makes your complaining so special that you should see Firefox developers as being "insane" "199 IQ freaks who memorized Webster's dictionary when they were still in diapers"? If the correctness of your spelling is such a big deal,…

Still, 100s of seeds, no go with BitTorrent. Azureus: connected in seconds, as expected originally with such common files.

Yet another buggy free FTP client
Yeah, I know about Panther and Tiger... I thought Tiger would fix all the bugs in Panther that made it less productive for me than Jaguar... Nope! So I downgraded from Tiger to Jaguar in a few weeks. If I was on 10.3.x, then I would have used (the pretty damn solid Panther version of) Cyberduck and not gone through more time-consuming command-line clients. Maybe SourceForge has something useful that VT doesn't.
