Clipboard Evolved 2.32 (Mac OS X)

License Should Be Labeled NAGWARE

From a developer's point of view, I can understand why a software package may be partially crippled during the trial period. On the other hand, when I am evaluating software, I personally like to give a program a good test for at least a week to be certain that it meets my needs. THE VERY WORST APPROACH as far as I'm concerned is what this program does: constantly throwing up a window in the finder to remind me to pay for it. I ALWAYS pay for software that I choose to use, but I will not even test NAGWARE that constantly interrupts my workflow. Forget it. [alert admin]

iClip Lyrics 1.4 (Mac OS X)

Great Little Application!!

To be honest, I did not expect much from this program but have been very pleasantly surprised. It installed without a problem and has permitted me to update all of my iTunes files with their lyrics. You simply launch the app and allow it to run as you listen to your favorite tunes. You have the choice of allowing the app to run as an open window - always on top - or, with the lyrics window in the background. As the song queue advances, the resizable lyrics window very quickly updates the words in the window to that of the current song. I would guestimate that the app finds correct tune words about 95% of the time. You can also click through your song list fairly quickly and the program will promptly populate lyrics for each song nearly as fast as you want to go.There were occasions when the wrong lyrics were found, but that was rare. Sometimes at the bottom of the lyrics window, you will see a message that says that it cannot find the lyrics. For those occasions, the program has a search button (a magnifying glass) there that when clicked, immediately launches your default browser and further, shows Google listings for the lyrics of the current song. You can then easily find the lyrics, copy them, which then automatically pastes the copied lyrics into a slide-out clipboard window. There, you can edit the lyrics as you wish. Once edited (or not), press the "paste lyrics" button at the bottom of the clipboard window and the text on the clipboard moves into the lyrics window. Very slick and painless! Once the lyrics words populate the lyrics window they are automatically saved. A caveat however, is that if you edit *within the LYRICS window* you must click on the refresh button (circular arrow) at the bottom of the window for the changes to be refreshed and saved. There is also an "X" button at the bottom of the lyrics window to clear the window of all content should you wish to do that. What I would like to see in the program: 1) Ability to set auto launch of program when iTunes is opened. 2) The ability to determine the site from which lyrics are obtained. Overall, this utility is EXCELLENT for a free app. I donated $12 for it, which I felt was fair for the amount of work that it saved me. I have not had a reason to contact the developer, so I cannot speak to request/problem response. I highly recommend this program! [alert admin]

Jade 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Can't Launch...

I have tried twice to install this program (v1.02) and try it out. I downloaded it directly from the developer's site. The disk image appears to install the app, but it will not launch. I'd like to try it but have to be able to get to it first. [alert admin]

Safe Place 2.2.3 (Mac OS X)

Kudos to Dave Batton!

I have used Safe Place for a couple of years and find it indispensable. It has saved my bacon more than once. It is intuitive, flexible, and a bargain for what it does. Dave recently worked on an issue with the application that was causing a freeze when I made a new entry. We corresponded by email until he found the problem, and then promptly fixed it. I wish everyone presented such a damn fine product, and responded to problems like Dave does. This is simply great software. Do yourself a favor and buy it! It is what all shareware should be! TubeSock 1.0 (Mac OS X)

All is Well now

In fairness, I just wanted to update my comments from earlier, and give this software a rating. After another "not so nice" email from me, I heard from Rob tonight, and it appears that he has been trying to contact me, but somehow his responses were filtered as spam by Earthlink. I do have Earthlink set at the highest filtration level. After we finally made contact, his responses were near immediate. He also answered a couple of questions that I had very promptly, and expressed his regret about the misscommunication. Once I was able to try the software, I am very pleased with its function. So far, I recommend it highly. It is very easly to use, and the quality of the downloaded video is very good. It is just what I've been looking for. Thumbs up!! [alert admin]

TubeSock 1.0 (Mac OS X)

It would be Nice to Use what I've Paid for...

I hope the developer of this software is on vacation. Why else would someone accept your fee, and not respond to 3 email requests to send a serial number. It has been about 10 days since I purchased my license via Paypal, and I still do not have my serial number. In fact no response at all. HELLOOOO? ARE YOU THERE??? Buyer beware! [alert admin]
