Drive Genius 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)

TERRIBLE-

I have a feeling Prosoft is leaving the great reviews of Drive Genuis to boost it's rating here.. It simply refuses to work, so how could anybody feel that it's "great.?" "Launch failures" galore. Just forget about trying to use this POS, and use Diskwarrior and iDefrag. In a perfect world, I'd get my money back. [alert admin]

EyeTV 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Lame with Leopard.... c'mon now

All kinds of error messages when trying to copy or delete a program in EyeTV's Program list. Seems Leopard's Finder is NOT so compatable, at all. ca-ching, ca-ching rules, I guess. [alert admin]

Drive Genius 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)

REALLY, absolutley not ready for Prime Time,......

To defrag an SATA drive in my Mac Pro, Prosoft told me I'd have to boot off the Drive Genius DVD. Who in the hell wants to go through THAT!!! ca-ching, ca-ching rules I guess. Please let us know when you have a REAL Genuis on you hands. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 9.0.2 (Mac OS X)

an improvement-

I notice now that Toast will the 2 dual cores on my Mac Pro, whereas, Toast 8 seemed to be utilizing one more than any others. It will now encode high def movies better from EyeTV files. I have had disk permisions errrors - error code 5000. But, overall worth the upgrade. Wish they had fixed version 8 before cashing in on version 9 though. - Ted Starr [alert admin]

iDefrag 1.6.5 (Mac OS X)

puts Drive Genius's defrag to SHAME

I have been using iDefrag for years. These guys are on top of their game, for sure. The current Leopard version works great. Get this. Drive Genius 2.02 CANNOT defrag, unless you boot from the DVD! Who wants to do that??? Buy, and enjoy the increased operation speed this utility DOES provide! [alert admin]

Drive Genius 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)

broken defrag- what a pain..............................

man the copy protection on Drive Genius is intense! every time I TRY to get defrag to work by trashing files, I have to RE-enter the damn serial number. defrag shows the disks with red exclamation points. huh??? this has happened often. c'mon ProSoft. [alert admin]

Drive Genius 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)

would be nice if it didn't break

pretty good. I turned off the flashy graphics. I just need down-home tools that work. unfortnately, at times, Drive Genius 2 stops working altogether, like it won't OPEN. what the deal with this? [alert admin]

EyeTV 3.0 (Mac OS X)

prefer version 2.5 for editing, and 3 for viewing shows...

I prefer EyeTV 2.52 for editing. It is more precise for that task, so I switch back to version 2.5 to edit. Version 3 is good for viewing shows. I hope they work on making it's editing more precise and less "chunky" looking. [alert admin]

Intego Personal Backup X5 10.5 (Mac OS X)

new version 5 for Leopard is USELESS ***

why they released this, I don't know (ca-ching, ca-ching $ probably-timing it with Macworld) it does not work for me in ANY mode. Version 4 for Tiger was great, but upgrading to this useless version is a rip-off. [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)

Don't Believe The Battery Level Meters!

They don't tell the truth about your battery life. Will show green, even if batteries for your mouse or keyboard is dead. I'm using their Mac S530 keyboard-mouse set, which is actually very good, relative to what is out there. [alert admin]
