BdContacts 0.93 (Mac OS X)

BdContacts GREAT!!!!!

I have used many contact management programs over the years and this one rates at the top for a single user program. Easy to use, very intuitive and jam packed with features that you would find in much more expensive programs. I have been putting this program through it's paces and it has worked flawlessly as it interfaces with Address Book. Alan Cook the designer is the most responsive designer of any software program I have ever requested information from. It is almost like he lives on his computer awaits for emails so he can respond in record time. This the program that Apple should have wrote and implemented into Address Book. I recommend that if you need a 10.5 contact management program, which includes, contact info, notes, alarms and photo management, check this one out today. It is free for the first 21 days. Audio Recorder 3.2 (Mac OS X)

I am happy with Audio Hijack

Until I switched to Audio Hijack and fusion, I used this program exclusively for my podcasts. Always worked perfectly. It is a simple program and it works. I use a MacBook Pro. [alert admin]

BdCalendar 0.92a (Mac OS X)

Very Nice Program

I have been playing with bd Calendar for about a week now and I have find it to be 100% working. First I want to compliment the programer regarding his commitment and immediate response to any and all questions I had about the program. It ads some really nice features that Apple should have included but didn't. The main thing is having a calendar view of up to 12 months rather than one. This calendar has many features and I doubt anyone will use them all, however it is nice to be able to look at your address ibook and ical. It also lets you add notes that you can keep only on your computer rather than syncing everything to your iphone. The program is priced very fairly although you need to buy a license for all the computers that you own, however if you already have a registered copy of the original software, you get a legitimate discount on the upgrade. I like this program and use it all the time. [alert admin]

Moon Exploration Dashboard Widget 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Lots of Fun

This widget is great except for the scrolling bar at the bottom. I also love their website. If you are into the constellations and looking up at the night sky, this is for you. [alert admin]

This program does what it promises and it is free. It is more than worth the price. I would have paid for this. I can't believe that I found it. Version Tracker Daily Newsletter does it again!!!! [alert admin]

Skype 2.6.0.148 (Mac OS X)

The Greatest IM There Is

I have been using Skype for a couple of years, first on Windows and now on MAC. although the windows version has more bells and whistles, the MAC version does what it needs to.
There are two challenges that I face with the MAC version is that it will crash from time to time and when it does, you need to reload it and enter your user name and password. I have it set to boot when I turn my computer on, so if I decide to reboot rather than enter my info, it will insert the info on its own when I reboot.
The second challenge is this: I have my SKYPE set to answer incoming calls automatically. When I am on a Voice call and another call comes in Skype puts the original call on hold and connects with the new call. That feature really needs to be fixed, because it has the potential of cause me an embarrassing moment or giving information to the wrong person.
I like the privacy features and the quality of the sound. The other thing I like is by being on line, it eliminates the time zone and if I am only line at 11 am and someone from AU wants to talk to me at 11 Pm their time, we can communicate as if it was the same time in both places.
I recommend SKYPE daily to my friends and business clients. I only wish that they would add the features that they have developed for windows users for us MAC folk. [alert admin]
