Inquisitor 3.0 (v41) (Mac OS X)
It's fast the way Spotlight was supposed to be. Think more like filtering in iTunes. [alert admin]

Novell GroupWise Client 7.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Last version terrible (like molasses). Clicked to download, taken to page with infinite choices, few clues. Tried June 2006 version 7.01 client for MacIntel, but needed password to get the client. My firm runs Novell, but I'm shut out from getting the client. Good work, again. [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 5.0.5 (Mac OS X)
Paying to get a product to work is not acceptable
I've used Chronos products for some time, and StickyBrain since its initial release. I've upgraded to SOHO Notes, and now version 5.05 - the latest version - tells me that it can't open my database unless I upgrade to the latest version. I am not prepared to pay tech support to explain why that is the case. I will simply downgrade until I find a version that works, export the data into another note manager that works more simply (and hogs less resources - Yojimbo?) and not bother with buggy products. Default Folder X 3.0 (Mac OS X)
The Spotlight feature alone is worth the price of admission, giving some real teeth to the Spotlight capability. I'm delighted to pay the upgrade fee to encourage the developer to continue to support and enhance the product. It's the one utility I can't live without - the first to get reinstalled when I buy a new machine. [alert admin]

RADMovieTimes 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Peculiar - didn't get the 'download contains an application' warning. Something different about the widget? [alert admin]

TypeIt4Me X 2.2 (Mac OS X)
I've used this since system 7 (it might have been 6), and it continues to be as useful as ever. If you do a lot of serious typing, it does what it says, well and without trouble. [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.1.1 beta 1 (Mac OS X)
Used for over a year - wonderful, special product. ![]()

To those having problems, all I can say is that it is likely something in your system. I use OmniWeb on 4 different machines, with different configurations, and it runs fine (but for the NYTimes bug that is fixed in this beta). No other product combines the features of this browser - saving window status, workspaces and drag and drop between them, elegant and unique tab system that simply works better, site-by-site preferences. Autofill works fine, and reliably on all systems. I can't recommend the product highly enough, and it's well worth paying for even in the face of some excellent free browsers. And a very responsive developer - it's hard to think of something to fault. Fulfills the promise of OS X. [alert admin]

Sync Entourage-iCal 1.0.11 (Mac OS X)
Other than the 'interface element expired' message (doesn't affect functionality), this does exactly what it says it will. Awesome. [alert admin]

Missing Sync for Palm OS 4.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I had difficulty getting my most critical conduit (Entourage) to work - mark/space support was immediate, patient and ultimately successful. I could not have had a better experience, and I'm delighted to have my syncs now proceeding smoothly and successfully every time. Bravo! [alert admin]

Sync Entourage-Address Book (Panther) 2.5.4 (Mac OS X)
Does as promised, permitting me to use Entourage for its fine integrative features while making Address Book simultaneously usable for those apps that depend on it (like Mail, my mail program at home - Sync E-AB, then iSync to my iDisk and all my contact info is available at home or PBook or whatever). Developer responsive as well when needed. [alert admin]
