Directory Construct 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Good concept, limited functionality

When I read the description, I was excited because it sounded exactly like what I needed. The reality was quite different. Open it up and it offers you about three columns of checkboxes, most with three or four letter names for your directories. You click the check boxes, click "create directory" and it builds the directory in a location of your choosing. There are no preferences and the codes for the directories are static, with no way to modify. The splash screen shows full-word descriptive folder names which the program does not even allow! This appears to be a quick toss-off of some internal utility and is in no way ready for real-world use. Put some more time into it and it might be worthwhile. For now, I feel I've lost a half an hour of my life that I'll never get back. [alert admin]

SecuritySpy 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't Support D-Link DCS-6620

Last year I asked about supporting the 6620 camera in Security Spy. I was told that D-Link changed the specs (from the previous version of the camera) and they couldn't support it yet. D-Link says that they offer the API to any developer that asks. I continue to request support for this camera with no response. ... and STILL no Universal Binary. [alert admin]

No iCal support -- less useful

Without leveraging iCal, this is limited usefulness. Too bad -- it looked tempting. [alert admin]
