Acquisition 117.2 (Mac OS X)
Quite often the app freezes on writing downloads when you quit it. Thus you have to kick it ... and all (not started) downloads are gone on the next start, since it is too stupid to allow saving the DL-list or back it up and read it on restart. It even keeps it secret where you could find the list. But even if you get the file, Aq. is unable to read it.
With each "search again" Aq. switches to "get all" instead of keeping the set selection like (only Music".
Why is there no more sophisticated selection, e. g. "only MP3"?
Why is there no search function in the DL list?
Why does it auto. offer your DL folder where finally are only incomplete files? Nonsense pure! Why can't you offer only special folder where others will find clean, complete and proper files you really want to share?!
Why does it irreversibly stop DLs that failed once?
Why does searches vary that much, even with the same criteria in the results?
Why is it horribly slow, often fully unresponsive for minutes, but uses system performance, even while no DL/UL runs, in a way Photoshop needs on calculating filters on very big images?
And much more, just look at my precious review! [alert admin]

Acquisition 117.1 (Mac OS X)
It's running quite stable but is missing many features.
- Why is there no search function in the DL pane?
- Why is there no option to limit searches generally for certain file types, e. g. ".mp3. Not just to "Music" and not just for each search separately again and again?
- Why does Aquisition (generally) include hits in the pathname in your searches and not just those in the filename and ID3 tags?
- Why is there no possibility to have the DL pane in a separate (own) window, at least optionally?
- Why can't you expand a search pattern instead of deleting it and creating a new one?
- Why is there no possibility to save your results or import your "Incomplete" folder? Just for the case Aquisition doesn't find them again after restart ... as sometimes happens, and you lose all your results an incomplete downloads.
- Why does Aquisition offer incomplete files, when I set a different folder for UL and have "Share files currently being downloaded" unticked? There are already too many apps offering incomplete (and unfixed) files. Exactely those hunters and collectors don't check their files ... and offering a bunch of incomplete, broken, wrong named, ... files. Horrible!
- Is there no way to exclude results from those spammers, who reply to each search with JPGs and WMVs?
Generally Aquisition is a solid app, but with some improvements it could make life easier. [alert admin]

Amadeus II 3.8.1 (Mac OS X)
... but the GUI is horrible.
- The waveform starts and ends too close to the window frame
- Loading more files while already editing one and they and also the "loading alert window" are topping your file, disturbing and bungling your work ... instead of loading into background.
- No usage of "Pos 1"/"End" key or something similar to jump to the beginning or end of a wave
- How to fiddle the cursor to the exact end/beginning for e. g. inserting? Zooming in, set, zooming out? Why no shortcut?
- No possibility to get rid of unnecessary formats like µLAW, AVI and QT movie?
- No possibility to preset the desired output format, which causes much additional efforts on working with many files. Otherwise something like Alt-Cmd-S would be enough to save it in that format and Cmd-S to save it in the original format.
- And Amadeus gets slow as hell if you are working on more than one file and try to edit one while the other is loading or saving, or when you try to save 3, 4, ... files, you have to wait long time. Something like a "Save all" (to original and to "set for output" format) would be fine. Then you could do something else instead of waiting minutes until the last save-dialog appeared.
- No shortcuts for many functions
- No possibility to collect ones main functions into a toolbar and/or address shortcuts for them?!
Amadeus crashes on saving files with long names, at least with bigger (50 MB+) files.
The shortcuts for fade in/out don't work at all.
Now it's up to you!

Media Rage 1.7 (Mac OS X)
but missing many features.
No search for VBR (an removal/change to fixed BR)?
No encoders, that means no changes of the music data.
Some data fields (like "Encoder") only appear in one tool and are missing in all others.
Search & Replace misses more templates and it separates strings at the wrong position: at the second resp. the last dash.
Let's take this one: "Brown-Song of Sam Myer-Miller.mp3" renders a
Artist: "Brown-Song of Sam Myer-"
Title: "Miller"
or
"Brown-Song-of-Sam-Myer-Miller.mp3" renders a
Artist: "Brown-Song-of-Sam-Myer-"
Title: "Miller"
Quite expensive for what it does. [alert admin]

Transmit 3.0 (Mac OS X)
No idea how they make this (and only this) app working exactely the opposite way their other programs do. Rarely crashes, fairly useable and some, even if they are poor, features. Nevertheless in Transmit the really useful details are missing, too.
Anywaa, if you compare it to Audion, that pure crap, where they gave in, it seems quite fine. [alert admin]

Amadeus II 3.8 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
It is very power-consuming and getting slower and slower even with normal file lengths, if there is more than one loaded. During loading and saving files Amadeus nearly gets unresponsive, it doesn't recognize actions correctly, since there is too much delay, and it also slows down the whole machine extremly.
And there are many bugs resp. issues that make working no fun.
- No way to save window sizes, positions and features (show whole sound)
- No way to customize the windows/buttons
- No way to preset a desired sound volume as default; it stays at "full"
- Clicking in the "whole sound" zooms in instead of focussing this area
- No button for zooming in (to a preset level) and back to the normal view
- Zooming moves the focus/selected area out of view
- Cutting/pasting moves the focus/selected area out of view
- Useless/annoying alerts (no sound selected)
- Fade in/out with no shortcuts resp. they don't work; no buttons for that
- Why two different and thus confusing keys (space and tab) for playback?
- Loading several files and already manipulating the first one will be disturbed when the second is loaded and this window and later the loading window become topped.
- And many more
Much to do to make this program serious and working with it productive and fun! [alert admin]

Mac GasBlender III 3.0 (Mac OS X)
Why doesn't it start at all? Nothing happens after doubleclicking it or chosing "Open" from the contextual menu. The same with a newly unzipped archive. [alert admin]
