Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 (Mac OS X)
Just bought and installed it on a dual 2.7 G5 running OS X 10.4.8, 4 GB RAM. Program crashes after 1-2 minutes of use. Repaired permissions several times and verified the disk. Also checked all fonts with Font Doctor, can't get this program to run. Also can't find any way on Adobe's site to get support without paying for it. [alert admin]

PC-Mac-Net FileShare Lite 5.4 (Mac OS X)
This is a very useful program, and the "lite" verion is free and totally functional for basic filesharing needs. What it does, among other things, is to make it possible for windows clients to see and download Macintosh files even if they have characters in their names which are "illegal" in Windows (such as quotes, slashes, etc). Samba can't do that. Also, with Samba on Windows clients, you have to remember an arcane IP address like smb://username@comutername/foldername, or something like that. This program makes it so a complete beginner can see and share files. I highly recommend it for this use. [alert admin]

StickyBrain 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Awesome product! Can finally handle html links that you grab from web pages. The contextual menu works flawlessly with Safari and IE (but not, unfortunately, with Firefox/Mozoilla/Camino/Netscape, but this was always the case). Linked notes and iPod sync are fantastic features. Doesn't automatically offer to convert your Stickybrain 2 database, which might confuse novice users. Otherwise I can't find any flaws. Well done! CherryPicker 2.0.1 fixes installer problem
Version 2.0.1 fixes the installer problem - installation is now simply unstuffing and drag the app to whever you want it. There were problems with the package installer, especially on G5's for some reason. [alert admin]

iData Pro 1.0.5 (Mac OS 9)
the downloaded demo to unstuff in either OS X or 9 (Stuffit Deluxe 7.0.1). Then I emailed C&G and asked if iData could grab text via contextual menus, as this is the most important feature for me. They said "No". So I tried and bought Stickybrain, which can do this. The one thing Stickybrain can't do that I would like is hot sync with the Palm, which I understand iData can do. [alert admin]

On the basis of the lite version, I bought a 4-license "Pro" version. Now I am having trouble downloading from a Mac to a PC - transering large folders usually stops somewhere in the middle. I have to keep restarting the program and doing the transfer as an "update" to get the whole thing. Bummer.
