VisualHub 1.34 (Mac OS X)

Disappointed

Out of about 15 files, this software failed to process any of them. It either errored out with various error messages or, on the few occasions that it did process the file, the audio was out of sync. This was mostly with h264 .ts files and h264 .mkv files. For me, a waste of money. [alert admin]

Bookit 3.7.1 (Mac OS X)

Regret . . .

I'm regretting spending the $12 on this app. The app doesn't do what, in my opinion, it claims to do: merge/synchonize bookmarks. It doesn't merge bookmarks. It shows you a list of bookmarks that are not present in a master list. It is up to the user to then manually merge the bookmarks. On top of that, it doesn't even succede at it's meager goals. I tried migrating my Safari bookmarks to .mac. Nothing. It says it was successful almost instantly, but it obviously didn't do anything. You would think that someone would have actually made a program to merge bookmarks by now. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 7.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Criminal

Terrible product in my opinion. It doesn't matter how many features you add if it can't even reliably burn simple discs. Toast simply will not successfully verify a disc on my dual G5 10.4.3. I can do the exact same burn through the Finder just fine. Support? Good luck. Worst experience ever. Their support site must have been created by sadists. And even if you get through, they will ignore you. I agree with another reviewer here: it would be better if they just told you they don't support their product. They should have called it Coast instead of Toast (as in Coast-er Maker.) [alert admin]

shadowBurn 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Fundamentally flawed

Discs authored in UDF format are not usable on the Mac. Files sizes are zero. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 7.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Shameful

Toast was a complete failure for my purposes. It would not burn dual-layer discs period. Tried 2 machines, 2 burners, 2 types of media. Always failed. Customer support was completely non-responsive (and their support website is horrible.) [alert admin]

Acquisition 114.1 (Mac OS X)

Memory Leak

Big ol' memory leak. Ate up all of the 1GB of RAM under 10.3.5 and I wasn't doing much. I had 2 searches going. No other apps running. The RAM wasn't released after quitting the app either. Had to restart. [alert admin]
